Shohei Ohtani Underdog MLB Pick - Higher Than 1.5 Total Bases

Game 7s are for the best, and there’s no doubt who the best is. This is a potential defining moment for Ohtani’s legacy, and the matchup couldn’t be better.

In the regular season, the 41-year-old Max Scherzer served up a 2.45 HR/9, .545 SLG, and .360 wOBA to left-handed hitters, and when facing lefties in his home park, he surrendered a 2.89 HR/9 with a measly 15.9 K%.

Strikeouts have been a problem for Ohtani this postseason, but he handled Scherzer well back in Game 3. How well you ask? How about a double and a home run that came off the bat at 113.8 mph and 101.5 mph respectively?

I love lefty bats against Scherzer, and I expect Ohtani to come up big on the biggest stage. Game 7. World Series. It’s Ohtani time.

Teoscar Hernandez Underdog MLB Pick - Higher Than 0.5 Hits 

As I mentioned above, we typically like the lefty bats against Scherzer, but Hernandez has been so darn good against righties, that we’re going with him here. Hernandez is slashing .261/.306/.543 against right-handed pitching, and back in Game 3 against Scherzer, Hernandez took him deep for a 412 ft. home run, and also had a flyout that came off the bat at 92.9 mph.

Scherzer was primarily a fastball-slider guy against RHH back in Game 3, and in October, Hernandez posted a .571 SLG versus four-seamers from righties, and a .530 wOBA versus sliders from righties.

The numbers point to lefties having more success against Scherzer, but I trust Hernandez, who has recorded a hit in three of his last four games.
