George Kirby Underdog MLB Pick - Higher Than 1.5 Earned Runs Allowed

Toronto smacked Kirby around the yard earlier this series, as Kirby surrendered eight earned runs on eight hits (3 HR) in just four IP of work. He was better at home than on the road in the regular season, and overall in the postseason, he’s allowed 17 hits in just 14 IP of work (.293 BAA, .361 BABIP, 5.14 FIP). 

Kirby’s issues with left-handed hitters is a bit problematic with some of the lefty bats in this lineup, but even beyond the lefties, Vladimir Guerrero, Ernie Clement, and George Springer all have a .900+ OPS against right-handed pitchers in October.

Furthermore, the Blue Jays are slashing .281/.342/.532 at home in the postseason, and against right-handed pitching, they sit at .284/.340/.525.

The Rogers Centre is going to be electric this evening, and I like the Toronto bats in Game 7.

 

 

 

Addison Barger Underdog MLB Pick - Higher Than 0.5 Hits

Barger has an .837 OPS at home in the postseason, and when facing righties, he’s hitting .286 with a .946 OPS. George Kirby has struggled a bit with left-handed hitters, especially on the road, and Barger has hit safely in four straight games.

If Kirby wants to try to attack Barger with his slider, I wish him the best of luck. Against sliders from RHP this season, Barger has a .387 wOBA and .553 SLG. Barger’s strengths, for the most part, line up well against Kirby’s repertoire.

If Seattle goes to a lefty, Barger could get pulled early, which isn’t ideal, but I expect him to get a hit off Kirby early in this game.
