What are the Best Underdog MLB Pick'em Picks Today?
Today’s two best Underdog Fantasy MLB Pick'em plays are Cade Cavalli higher than 4.5 strikeouts and Davis Martin higher than 4.5 strikeouts. Both props are supported by matchup data, current streaks, and favorable line construction heading into an action-packed day of baseball. Read below for the complete analysis on each.
Cade Cavalli HIGHER than 4.5 Strikeouts
Cavalli has 10.38 K/9 on the season, but the strikeouts are a bit inconsistent. He has as many games with 10 strikeouts as he does with two, and he’s actually only eclipsed 4.5 strikeouts in half of his starts. However, I’m digging the spot today, and he’s pitched well of late, posting a 3.79 ERA, 2.94 xERA, 2.08 FIP, and 27:5 K/BB ratio over his last four starts (19 IP).
Compared to his season usage, his changeup usage is slightly up of late, and he needs that pitch to help overcome some issues with left-handed hitters that he’s had that season. Overall, his changeup has resulted in a .077 BAA and 28.0% whiff rate.
While the Marlins are actually slightly better than the league average in terms of K% on the year against RHP at 21.4%, the numbers of late are less impressive. Over the last two weeks, the Marlins have the fourth-highest K% at 25.1%, and over the last two weeks against RHP, that mark sits at 23.3%, not to mention a .216 AVG, .644 OPS, and 81 wRC+.
If Cavalli continues to trust his changeup, it can minimize damage from a likely lefty-heavy Miami lineup, and the whiffs will follow.
Davis Martin HIGHER than 4.5 Strikeouts
Martin has racked up 24 strikeouts over his last 19 IP, which was aided a bit by not one, but two matchups with the Angels. However, all season long, Martin has been improved in the strikeout department. After posting a 17.3 K% and 9.5 SwStr%, a slight switch in his pitch mix and usage has upped those numbers to 25.4% and 11.3% respectively in 2026. He regularly uses six pitches, and four of them have a whiff rate of at least 24%, headlined by his slider at an insane 59.2%!
Martin takes on the Mariners on Sunday, a team that has the second-highest strikeout rate in baseball at 26.1% over the last two weeks! Furthermore, for the entire 2026 season, they have struck out at a 24.5% clip against right-handed pitching, which trails only the Angels (26.2%).
I love this spot for Martin today.
