Due to the All-Star Game break, pitching rotations are in a flux as we head into the second half of the MLB season. Figuring out which SPs are going to slot into their teams’ rotations to serve as Fantasy Baseball 2025Two-Start Pitchers is going to take another scoring period to become clearer and more definite. With so many rotations up in the air, the quantity of Fantasy Baseball 2025 Streaming Starters is also hazy as this report is being written, but there are some names that have surfaced and are worthy of your consideration as plug-in arms to further your pursuit of a fantasy championship.

Please realize that these articles feature most recent rotation information available when the article is written, but that circumstances do change due to weather conditions, injuries and general craziness with managers. If a pitcher listed here as having two starts ends up with one (or perhaps none) in the upcoming week, apologies but this article is meant to provide analysis, it is up to the manager to set the lineups or rotations.

Without further ado, here are this week’s two start pitchers:

These are the slate of dual-start pitchers whose rotation spots are ‘guaranteed” as of the writing of this article. More two-start SPs will be popping up as the post-ASG situations with each team settles out. With so few arms to choose from, fortunately most of these two-start hurlers are worthy of plugging in and letting them provide their stats. The top four of Rodon, Wheeler, Baz and Gausman would make the upper tier, certainly, and Keller is looking to build on his three consecutive quality start (QS) streak, although the first matchup against the Tigers is not entirely favorable.

The balance of the two-start options are all saddled with ERAs over 4.00, which is not exactly a reason not to employ their services given the state of pitching ratios in baseball these days. Scherzer and Bibee also have reasonably useful WHIPs (1.28 and 1.24, respectively). If you are seeking strikeouts, Lopez, Cantillo, Scherzer and even Singer should aid in that counting stat category, especially with two trips to toe the rubber on the schedule. The two Angel SPs would likely be relegated to third-tier status were the pickings of two-start options not so slim this scoring period, as neither offers much in the way of K potential or ratio help.

Potential Streaming Options for Week 17

There is no promise that each game day will provide a streaming option. First of all, the pitcher must be available in at least 50% of leagues to be a viable candidate to snag off the wire. Then, the pitchers discussed above are not included as they have a different sort of value, even though some might be available as free agents in your league. Plus, some days the matchups and/or venues just do not figure as positive enough factors to favor plugging the arm into your rotation, even for one start. That all being said, here are this week’s best Fantasy Baseball 2025 Streaming Starters candidates:

Charlie Morton, Baltimore Orioles @ Cleveland Guardians

Slade Cecconi, Cleveland Guardians vs Baltimore Orioles

We open the streaming discussion with a game where both SPs are worthy of consideration to slip into your fantasy rotations.

The veteran 41-year-old righthander Morton has been revitalized after his stint in the Oriole bullpen, especially over his last five outings where he has accumulated a superior 2.30 ERA and 1.17 WHIP, while also racking up a serious 31:7 K/BB ratio over those 27.1 IP. During that five-game stretch referenced above, he also has a 3-0 record with a pair of QS.

The Guardian righty has also been dealing since the beginning of June, albeit not quite as impressive as the Oriole veteran discussed immediately above: 2.72 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, 39:13 K/BB ratio. He has collected three QS over his last four starts, and also three victories (but also three losses over those 39.2 IP). The potential downside is that he has pitched as more of a road warrior in recent action, and over the past two-plus seasons to be accurate, so a home start is not necessarily a great recommendation for the 26-year-old.

Colin Rea, Chicago Cubs vs Kansas City Royals

The veteran righthander is working on a three-game win streak where the last two victories are QS variety, too. He has shown excellent control over those 18.2 IP, with only four free passes handed out, but the K rate is well below average at 6.4 over the course of 2025 thus far. This is a home start for the Cub SP, and while he pitches better away from Wrigley Field, although his team certainly loves their home park, so there is that positive aspect.

Patrick Corbin, Texas Rangers vs Athletics

JP Sears, Athletics @ Texas Rangers

In our second contest where both SPs are worthy of contemplating as streaming hurlers, the Rangers have a veteran southpaw whom is working on a two consecutive game winning streak, with two of his last trips to toe the rubber being QS efforts. He offers good control but only below-average strikeout potential (2.6 BB/9, 7.1 K/9 over his 93.1 IP). He does get to climb the hill at home, where he has had better results than away from Arlington this season.

Sears has been much more prolific when atop the hill in an opponent’s park in 2025, so he has some cachet as a road starter in this contest. He has been better at missing bats of late, with a 8.6 K/9 rate over his last three outings, and he has demonstrated great control all season, with a superior 2.2 BB/9 rate over his total 97.2 IP this season.

Brandon Walter, Houston Astros @ Arizona Diamondbacks

The second-year rookie southpaw has tossed four QS among his seven starts this season, and heads into the post-ASG action with a not unattractive 3.98 ERA and a stellar 1.01 WHIP, the WHIP fueled by his stingy two free passes allowed over his limited 40.2 IP this year. He is no slouch when it comes to missing bats, either, with a 8.9 K/9 rate over his seven times scraping the slab in 2025.

Eric Lauer, Toronto Blue Jays @ Detroit Tigers

The lefthander has proven to be a valuable addition to the Toronto rotation, stepping in when Bowden Francis hit the IL. He has not allowed more than three earned runs in an appearance, and that number of tallies only twice thus far in 2025. His ratios are superb: 2.78 ERA, 1.04 WHIP. He has been racking up Ks at a rate better than one per frame, and exhibiting good control: 9.5 K/, 2.6 BB/9 over 55.0 IP. Not the greatest matchup on the road, admittedly, but his success on the bump cannot be ignored.

Logan Allen, Cleveland Guardians vs Baltimore Orioles

The 26-yar-old southpaw has delivered three consecutive QS, although he only has a 1-2 record to show for those efforts on the hill. He has also collected 16 Ks over those 18.0 IP. A concern is the eight dingers he has handed out over his last nine games. His home/road splits are about even, so the home start is not a primary bonus if you use him as a spot starter.

Zebby Matthews, Minnesota Twins vs Washington Nationals

The second-year rookie looked extremely sharp in his rehab start, tossing a 97/98 MPH fastball while striking out nine hitters among the 12 outs he collected over his 4.0 IP appearance. He will probably be limited as he resumes his place in the Twins’ rotation, so keep that in mind when you ponder whether or not to snag him off the wire for your fantasy squad. His efforts as a starter have not been exceptional to date, but his peripheral metrics hint that he may have been unlucky so far and that better results are on the horizon: 3.07 FIP vs 5.21 ERA, .375 BABIP, 67.5% LOB.

Janson Junk, Miami Marlins @ Milwaukee Brewers

The 29-year-old righty has picked up four victories against one loss this year for the Marlins, and sports an attractive 2.68 ERA and 0.99 WHIP with superior control (0.7 BB/9 over 50.1 combined relief and starting IP. His home/road splits would appear to favor using him in Miami, but his last two successful efforts were on the road, so this appearance has potential if you need a starter to join your staff at week’s end.
