By the time your eyes take in these words, MLB teams will have played half or more of their scheduled regular season games. Expect to see plenty of arms being promoted to cover for those injuries that are sure to keep popping up among all players, not just SPs. But certainly, if recent trends continue, there will be numerous opportunities to take chances on arms that are untested or returning to MLB action. Mostly, this will be showcased in Fantasy Baseball 2025 Streaming Starters, to be certain. The Fantasy Baseball 2025 Two-Start Pitchers, at least in terms of top-tier hurlers, will tend to be tried and true starters among whom to decide whether they grace your fantasy rotations for dual starts.

Please realize that these articles feature the most recent rotation information available when the article is written, but that circumstances do change due to weather conditions, injuries, and general craziness with managers. If a pitcher listed here as having two starts ends up with one (or perhaps none) in the upcoming week, apologies, but this article is meant to provide analysis; it is up to the manager to set the lineups or rotations.

Without further ado, here are this week’s two start pitchers:

Another week with not a ton of top-tier, ace-level talent for you to plug into your rotations for a pair of starts. Still, the SPs that grace this upper group are those that you should rely upon for fantasy pitching goodness heading into Week 14. Although these hurlers may suffer the occasional stumble, they do provide the best options to bolster your pitching stats going forward as we head into the second half of the 2025 season.

Lopez has dealt three consecutive quality starts, the last against the powerful Detroit lineup in Comerica Park, where he held the Tiger hitters scoreless on just three hits and one free pass. He has struggled on the road, so perhaps sitting him for the Tampa Bay visit would be prudent, and then plugging him in for the home contest against the Giants who are currently a game under .500 away from Oracle Park.

Rasmussen picked up his seventh win of the season, going 5.0 IP without allowing a run against the host Royals. He allowed just two safties, and struck out a batter per frame. His ERA is a stellar 2.45 and he also has a superior 0.96 WHIP as a complementary ratio stat. He is going to face off against the SP profiled just above in the contest where it was recommended that Lopez take a seat on your bench, but feel free to employ the veteran righty in the Monday game.

Gordon picked up his third victory of the season, shutting out the visiting Phillies over 5.0 IP and holding the Philadelphia hitters to just four hits, while issuing no walks and striking out four. His ERA has dropped below 4.00 (3.96 in point of fact) and while his WHIP is still inflated at 1.30, it is not lack of control as evidenced by his stellar 1.1 BB/9 rate on the season. He has been pitching like a road warrior in his early rookie season, so the two games away from his home park actually play to his strength.

Williams has tossed three QS over his last five outings, comprising 28.0 IP, although his K/BB ratio is an underwhelming 20:13 over that stretch. He also has four no-decisions and one win over that five-game period. His home/road splits are remarkably even, so no reason to not to start him for either of his Week 14 trips to climb the hill, although the potential for Ks increases in his second start against the Tigers.

Boyd tossed his 11th QS of the season, shutting out the host Cardinals for 6.0 IP, while allowing just three hits and zero walks. He only collected three Ks, although he does sport a useful 8.1 K/9 rate on the season. With his excellent control, the southpaw does not cause himself unnecessary trouble while toeing the rubber, and for the second time this week, he is scheduled to face the pitcher profiled immediately above him in the middle tier. With two home starts on tap, he is a nice dual start option to rely upon this week.

Cabrera has put together a six-game stretch where he has allowed two or fewer earned runs in each contest. Over those 30.0 IP, his ERA sits at 1.80, a superb ratio and the 1.23 WHIP is useful as well. He has two home contests on the schedule for Week 14, although he does not seem bothered to pitch away from his home park, for future reference.

Rogers looked exceptional in a home start against the visiting Rangers, going 8.0 IP and allowing nary a run. He struck out only four hitters, but also did not hand out a free pass in the victory. Be advised that he may be sent to the mound to face the visiting Tampa Bay team, which would interfere with his dual-start status in Week 14.

As is usually the advice given regarding the arms residing in the bottom-tier, you would do best to avoid using these hurlers in your fantasy rotations, especially for both their scheduled trips to scrape the slab this scoring period. There are those you may wish to swap into your rotations as streaming options, such as Gallen and Hancock who sit atop the tier, but realize these arms are here due to their recent success or lack thereof. While you may seek some counting stat value, the damage to your ratios argues against these SPs as part of your pitching scheme in Week 14.

Potential Streaming Options for Week 14

There is no promise that each game day will provide a streaming option. First of all, the pitcher must be available in at least 50% of leagues to be a viable candidate to snag off the wire. Then, the pitchers discussed above are not included as they have a different sort of value, even though some might be available as free agents in your league. Plus, some days the matchups and/or venues just do not figure as positive enough factors to favor plugging the arm into your rotation, even for one start. That all being said, here are this week’s best Fantasy Baseball 2025 Streaming Starters candidates:

Charlie Morton, Baltimore Orioles @ Texas Rangers

The veteran righthander struggled through one inning in his most recent time atop the hill, but was undermined by some shaky defense behind him, too. Still he allowed three earned runs and only racked up a trio of Ks, his lowest strikeout total since rejoining the Oriole rotation. He will be seeking redemption against the Rangers in this contest, but will be on Texas soil, and his best efforts have been in Baltimore this season, the last outing notwithstanding.

Andre Pallante, St. Louis Cardinals @ Pittsburgh Pirates

The 26-year-old righty flies under the radar for the most part due to some inspiring ratio numbers: 4.43 ERA and 1.35 WHIP through his 87.1 IP on the season. Prior to his recent loss against the Cubs (two runs on seven hits and just two Ks over 5.0 IP), he wass coming off a nice outing where he baffled the Reds’ hitters mostly, holding them scoreless on three hits and a walk for his sixth QS of the season. His home/road splits are fairly even, so this road game is not any reason to avoid using him as a streaming option, especially against this opponent.

Mitch Spence, Athletics @ Tampa Bay Rays

Spence suffered through one horrible frame in his loss to the visiting Guardians, but his prior three starts had seen him limit opponents to just two earned tallies with an acceptable 10 Ks over those 15 IP, when compared to only allowing two free passes. His efforts on the road have been superior this season, so despite the matchup, there are factors weighing in his favor for a streaming start in this contest.

Janson Junk, Miami Marlins vs Minnesota Twins

Junk looks to stick in the Miami rotation, since Max Meyer has been ruled out for the season with his hip issue. He offers decent K potential with his 7.5 K/9 over his total but limited 31.1 IP in 2025. Despite a couple of bad outings, including his most recent trip to the hill, he features useful ratios with a 3.73 ERA and 1.15 WHIP as a bulk reliever and now SP. Pitching at home is an additional plus in this outing.

Jose Quintana, Milwaukee Brewers @ New York Mets

Despite allowing four walks and collecting but a single strikeout, the veteran southpaw was able to pick up his fifth victory against the host Twins, lowering his ERA to a sub-3.00 level once again, at 2.96 currently. It was his third QS of the season, and he has been exceptional away from his home park this season, which bodes well here in this start.

Slade Cecconi, Cleveland Guardians vs Detroit Tigers

The young righthander twirled seven shutout innings for his second consecutive victory and second (not consecutive) QS of the season. He is racking up Ks at nearly a strikeout per inning pace and gets the Tiges at home, a better situation generally than heading to Detroit for the contest.

Eric Lauer, Toronto Blue Jays vs Los Angeles Angels

The veteran lefthander was again sharp on the bump, lowering his already exceptional ERA to 2.21. The 1.01 WHIP is awfully nice, too, for a streaming option available in loads of leagues. He is delivering Ks at the rate of one per inning (9.1 K/9 actually over his 40.2 IP this season), although his peripheral metrics do more than just hint at a possible negative regression in his future: 3.83 FIP, .212 BABIP, 88.4% LOB. If you employ his services as a streamer, just be prepared for the inevitable adjustment at some point in the future.

Randy Vasquez, San Diego Padres vs Texas Rangers

The key with the 26-year-old righty is that when he pitches deep enough into a contest to qualify, he puts up QS, at least that has been the trend this season so far. He is coming off another QS against the host Royals, but alas, despite his generally effective presence atop the bump, his W/L record is not overly impressive at 3-4. His last six outings have been no decisions, but he will look to reverse that tendency by facing a team that is well below .500 on the road this year.

Dean Kremer, Baltimore Orioles @ Atlanta Braves

The Oriole veteran righthander has been hot and cold with his K production over the course of the season, resulting in a slightly below average K rate of 7.2 over his 90.0 IP in 2025. He is continuing to work on reducing his inflated ERA, which currently sits at 4.60 with a similarly inflated WHIP of 1.34. The Braves are not exactly known for their free-swinging ways, but are in the top half of the MLB in terms of swinging and missing, so perhaps the SP can produce a strong K effort in back-to-back outings.

Logan Allen, Cleveland Guardians vs Detroit Tigers

When looking for a streaming option, venue and opponent are important considerations. Here, Allen is about equal at home or on a foreign mound, but the Tigers are significantly more palatable as an opponent when they are playing away from Comerica Park, as in this contest. The Guardian southpaw will seek some swings and misses from the Tiger hitters, who are in the top third among all MLB teams in strikeouts.

Frankie Montas, New York Mets vs New York Yankees

The veteran righty looked sharp in his debut game for his new team, somewhat surprising given his struggles during his minor-league rehab efforts. He allowed just three singles over his 5.0 IP against the visiting Brave offense, and the three walks allowed are a concern that he is still not exactly sharp with his command and control. He gets this start at home, so despite the less-than-ideal matchup against the crosstown opponent, there is that factor in his favor. Keep an eye on his endeavors against the Pirates at PNC Park this coming weekend, before plugging him in against the Bronx Bombers, perhaps.
