MLB Week 14 Injury Report Update: Pitchers
Griffin Canning, New York Mets - Achilles
We’ve all seen the mechanism for an Achilles injury, and I’d expect Canning’s season to be over with this injury. The team has also said it’s an Achilles injury.
Sean Manaea, New York Mets - Oblique/Elbow
While working back from an oblique issue, some discomfort in Manaea’s elbow appeared. He received a cortisone shot and was instructed to take a couple of days off from throwing.
Lance McCullers, Houston Astros - Foot
McCullers is dealing with a foot sprain, but the team hasn’t ruled out that he could pitch on June 28. Given his lengthy injury, I’m skeptical the team pushes him too much, but if he’s ready, then so be it!
Max Meyer, Miami Marlins - Hip
Meyer is getting surgery to repair his hip, and his season will end after 64.2 IP.
Nathan Eovaldi, Texas Rangers - Triceps
Eovaldi will be activated from the IL and start on Friday for the Texas Rangers.
Reese Olson, Detroit Tigers - Finger
The expectation is that Reese Olson’s last rehab start would be his last, and Roster Resource has him listed as the starter for Detroit on Wednesday, July 2.
Kyle Freeland, Colorado Rockies - Back
Freeland should start on Friday for Colorado, which would be his first start since going on the IL with his back issue.
MLB Week 14 Injury Report Update: Hitters
Corbin Carroll, Arizona Diamondbacks - Hand/Wrist
Carroll was placed on the injured list earlier this week with a chip fracture in his left wrist
Vladimir Guerrero, Toronto Blue Jays - Forearm
Guerrero is dealing with a forearm issue after taking a pitch from Tanner Bibee. Consider him day to day at the moment.
Jose Ramirez, Cleveland Guardians - Forearm
Like Guerrero, Ramirez took a pitch off the forearm in that same game, and he’s currently day to day.
Bryce Harper, Philadelphia Phillies - Wrist
Harper could return at some point next week at the earliest.
Mark Vientos, New York Mets - Hamstring
Vientos will be activated today after missing nearly one month with his hamstring injury.
Royce Lewis, Minnesota Twins - Hamstring
Lewis will begin a rehab assignment today and will likely need a couple of games before being activated.
Eugenio Suarez, Arizona Diamondbacks - Hand
Suarez is day-to-day with a hand contusion.
Lars Nootbaar, St. Louis Cardinals - Intercostal
Nootbaar is dealing with some intercostal soreness and is day-to-day at this juncture. Brendan Donovan has played left field for both games Nootbaar has missed, with Thomas Saggese getting the starts at 2B.
Zach Neto, Los Angeles Angels - Shoulder
Neto is day-to-day with his shoulder injury, but the good news is that no structural damage was found.
Keibert Ruiz, Washington Nationals - Head
A freak incident is the culprit for Ruiz heading to the IL. A foul ball struck him while in the dugout, and a CT scan revealed no concussion or fracture.
Shea Langeliers (Oblique) and Zack Gelof (Ribs), Athletics
Langeliers and Gelof continue to progress in their respective rehab assignments. Gelof is slashing .250/.500/.375 over his last 16 ABs, while Langeliers is 5-for-8 through two rehab games.
