It's Game 4 of the American League Division Series after the Guardians won Game 3 to keep their season alive. Parker Messick takes the ball for Guardians while the White Sox are going with an opener in Hagan Smith as a bulk guy. We'll see if the stars such as Jose Ramirez, Miguel Vargas, Munetaka Murakami, and Chase DeLauter show up when the lights are the brightest.

Guardians vs. White Sox: Pitching Matchup

Parker Messick, Cleveland Guardians

Parker Messick has been one of the league's best pitchers this year and is facing one of the league's best offenses against left-handed pitching. This will be the SIXTH meeting between Messick and the Sox and he's pitched to a 3 ERA and has averaged north of 20 DKP/game. The White Sox finished with a 111 wRC+ against lefties this year, which ranked fifth in all of baseball.

DraftKings CPT: $18,600 | DraftKings UTIL: $12,400

Hagen Smith, Chicago White Sox

This won't be a very long outing for Hagen Smith after throwing 21 pitches yesterday, but we've seen him extended at least 2.2 IP in his first two postseason appearances. The White Sox are expected to have Erick Fedde for some bulk innings but all of the appearances will likely be on the shorter side. If we're being honest, I think Grant Taylor is likely the best White Sox pitcher to use. He hasn't been used in three days and in his first two postseason outings, he pitched 2.1 and 4.0 innings and notched over 10 DKP in each.

Guardians vs White Sox Preview: Key Players to Watch

Jose Ramirez, 3B (Guardians)

Ramirez woke up and kept the Guardians season alive in Game 3 and maybe that's the spark they need to win Game 4 as well. Ramirez will start with at-bats against a lefty, the split he's historically dominated his whole career.

DraftKings CPT: $13,200 | DraftKings UTIL: $8,800 | FanDuel MVP: $18,300 | FanDuel UTIL: $12,200

Miguel Vargas, 3B (White Sox)

It's hard to hit off of Parker Messick but Miguel Vargas is really good against southpaws. Vargas has a .265 ISO, .272 xISO, .393 wOBA, and .408 xwOBA against lefties this year. He'll be near or at the top of the White Sox lineup and is as live to do damage as anyone else on the slate.

DraftKings CPT: $14,400 | DraftKings UTIL: $9,600 | FanDuel MVP: $19,200 | FanDuel UTIL: $12,800

Chase Meidroth, 2B (White Sox)

Why is Chase Meidroth so high here? He absolutely smashes left-handed pitching. On the year, he had a .350/.431/.592 slash with a .242 ISO and a .439 wOBA against lefties. That's just ELITE stuff. Hard to ignore that stuff.

DraftKings CPT: $12,300 | DraftKings UTIL: $8,200 | FanDuel MVP: $12,300 | FanDuel UTIL: $8,200

Chase DeLauter, OF (Guardians)

DeLauter was super good against both splits this year, which benefits him against a bullpen game. DeLauter hit .323 against southpaws with an .844 OPS and he posted an .808 ISO against righties.

DraftKings CPT: $11,400 | DraftKings UTIL: $7,600 | FanDuel MVP: $15,600 | FanDuel UTIL: $10,400

Jo Adell, OF (Guardians)

We're banking on Jo Adell to have elite at-bats against lefties and whatever happens against righties is a bonus. Adell had a .971 OPS against southpaws and .591 OPS against righties.

DraftKings CPT: $9,900 | DraftKings UTIL: $6,600 | FanDuel MVP: $13,500 | FanDuel UTIL: $9,000

Angel Martinez, OF (Guardians)

It's been a tough stretch for Angel Martinez this series as he's been hitless, but he's been a solid bat overall. He hit 18 bombs during the regular season. 11 came off righties and seven came against lefties, which he really hit hard despite hitting fewer bombs but that's a sample size thing.

DraftKings CPT: $12,000 | DraftKings UTIL: $8,000 | FanDuel MVP: $10,500 | FanDuel UTIL: $7,000

Munetaka Murakami, 1B (White Sox)

The reason you click Munetaka Murakami is because of the chance at a “Mune bomb”. He has other wordly power upside against both splits.

DraftKings CPT: $13,800 | DraftKings UTIL: $9,200 | FanDuel MVP: $17,400 | FanDuel UTIL: $11,600
