PrizePicks MLB Picks Today: Wednesday, 4/22

Chad Patrick PrizePicks MLB Pick: More Than 3.5 Hits Allowed

Chad Patrick is off to a strong start this season. The Milwaukee Brewers’ right-hander boasts a 0.95 ERA over his first 4 outings. It’s certainly impressive, but it might also be time to sell high. Today’s matchup against the Detroit Tigers will be tough, and Patrick has some worrisome underlying metrics.

The Tigers have an upper-tier offense against right-handed pitching this year, with a .326 wOBA and 105 wRC+ in the split. Over the past week vs. righties, Detroit has been even better, with a .346 wOBA (6th in MLB) and 118 wRC+ (7th). This is a step up in competition for Patrick, who benefited from facing weaker Royals, Nationals, and White Sox lineups early on.

Plus, Patrick is likely due for negative regression. His 3.98 FIP and 5.38 xFIP are notably higher than that low ERA. More specifically, his 97.1% left-on-base rate and .241 BABIP are unsustainable in tougher matchups like this one. Patrick’s 12.0% strikeout rate (5th MLB percentile) is also concerning.

Furthermore, he’s pitched at home in 3 of his 4 outings so far. That certainly helps in limiting the runs. Last year, Patrick had a 4.30 ERA and .324 wOBA allowed on the road compared to a 2.94 ERA and .293 wOBA at home. He’ll likely give up more than 3.5 hits in today’s start.

Michael Harris PrizePicks MLB Pick: More Than 1.5 Hits+Runs+RBI

Michael Harris is among baseball’s hottest hitters at the moment. He’s hitting .400 with a 1.188 OPS over his last 9 games, while piling up 23 combined hits, runs, and RBI in that span. The Atlanta Braves’ outfielder is in a strong position to stay productive in Wednesday’s plus matchup.

Washington Nationals starter Zack Littell has been a pitcher to target against in seasons past, and that trend continues in 2026. The right-hander owns a 7.11 ERA and 1.74 WHIP through 4 starts, while surrendering 27 hits and 15 earned runs across 19 innings. He’s also already given up 7 home runs in his 4 outings.

The Braves’ lineup has been very good against right-handed pitching, and the lefty-swinging Harris is a key cog in that run production. He’s hitting .322 with an .846 OPS against righties this season. He’s also excelled on the road with a .333 average and .934 OPS. Littell, meanwhile, has allowed a 1.038 OPS to left-handed hitters this year. In addition, Harris has surpassed 1.5 combined hits, runs, and RBI in 6 of his last 8 starts.
