We have a solid Memorial Day slate today for the MLB PrizePicks Cheat Sheet - Best Player Prop Plays. Today I take a look at the red-hot Boston Red Sox offense and a matchup against the Baltimore Orioles along with some strikeout props with pitchers in favorable matchups. As always, I suggest you look to use these in smaller plays, two-pick combos or if you do decide to put them all in one play then take advantage of the flex option. Be smart, do your own research, and be comfortable with your plays.

That being said, let's take a look at my favorite plays for today's slate.

Rafael Devers Over 1.5 Total Bases

Devers is currently the MLB leader in hits, doubles, total bases and extra-base hits this season. Naturally, the idea of him getting over 1.5 total bases today would make perfect sense. He faces a Baltimore pitching staff that continues to struggle and today's starter Tyler Wells has been abysmal on the road this season, posting a 6.50 ERA over five starts. Devers has gone over 1.5 total bases in four of the last five games.

Framber Valdez Over 18.5 Outs

A real head-scratcher for me on this one. Valdez has thrown at least seven innings in three straight games which would get us the over that we are looking at for today's prop total. He is facing an A's roster that ranks in the bottom third against left-handed pitching in both batting average and wOBA while boasting the eighth-highest strikeout rate. Even more encouraging here is the pitch counts for Valdez, as the Astros have allowed him to throw no less than 96 pitches in any of his last five starts. Unless he really gets into trouble today in a matchup that he shouldn't I am liking this one a lot.

Logan Webb Over 5.0 Strikeouts

We are looking at a strikeout prop total of just five tonight which is a number that Webb has gone over on in four of the last six starts. Today he faces a Phillies lineup that over the last two weeks has the fifth-highest strikeout rate at 26.2-percent. Webb has just a 6.75 K/9 on the year but he has faced the Mets, Nationals, and Cardinals in six of his nine starts this season and those three teams rank 27th, 29th, and 30th in strikeout rate this season. Overall the Phillies have the 10th highest team strikeout rate. I think this is a line mistake based off numbers that may be lower than expected given his tough stretch of opponents.

Zac Gallen Over 6.0 Strikeouts

Until the Atlanta Braves prove to me they are not going to strike out at a league-high clip I am going to continue to attack strikeout props against them with pitchers that I deem to be “elite”. Gallen certainly falls into that category of top-tier pitchers in my mind with this season bringing just one drawback and that would actually happen to be his strikeout rate. Over the first three seasons of his career we saw Gallen post a K/9 over 10.0 yet this season his K/9 sits at just 8.7. A K/9 of 8.7 is good enough given today's matchup against a Braves team that has a 31.1-percent strikeout rate against right-handed pitching over the past two weeks.
