Logan Webb Over 5.0 Strikeouts

Listen, I've loved going after these Webb strikeout props this season, especially when we are getting it as low as it is today at just 5.0 strikeouts. On the season Webb has hit the over on this total in seven of his 10 starts including five of the last six outings. As I've previously mentioned, Webb has faced teams in the Cardinals and Nationals in nearly half of his starts and those teams rank towards the bottom of the league in strikeout rate. Today he faces a Rockies team, whom he finished with six strikeouts against earlier this season, that has the eighth-highest strikeout rate against RHP over the last two weeks.

Max Fried Over 5.5 Strikeouts

This is a tough number on Fried today as he isn't the biggest strikeout guy but I am buying into the matchup here. Over the past two weeks, the Pirates have had the highest strikeout rate against LHP at 28.9-percent. Overall this season the Pirates have the seventh-highest strikeout rate at 24.0-percent against southpaws. Fried is averaging a tick under a strikeout per inning this season so I'm hopeful that the easy matchup here allows for him to pitch deeper into today's game.

Konnor Pilkington Over 5.0 Strikeouts

This is looking like one of the more popular plays on the board today as Pilkington runs up against the struggling Oakland Athletics. In his most recent start we saw him finish with eight strikeouts in five innings against the Royals. He has made three starts this season and has a 29.5-percent strikeout rate in those three outings which came against the Tigers, Blue Jays and Royals who rank 13th, 23rd and 26th in strikeout rate against left-handed pitching. Pretty good numbers against teams who do not generally strike out.
