Happy Monday! Let’s get the week going strong with a great slate of baseball games. While many are shifting their focus to prepare for the football season, we are staying dialed in on baseball as we are about to enter what should be an exciting last month of the MLB season. Today, we get a 12-game main slate starting at 7:05 PM EST on both DraftKings and FanDuel. There are some great matchups happening today with some great NL battles this evening with the Cincinnati Reds and San Francisco Giants facing off, as well as the Arizona Diamondbacks and Los Angeles Dodgers in an NL West showdown. We also have the Seattle Mariners looking to hold onto first place by getting to face the Oakland Athletics while the Texas Rangers look to bounce back against the New York Mets. Let’s not forget about the best offense in baseball, the Atlanta Braves, getting to play at Coors Field today! It should be a great day of baseball, and we will be looking to build some more winning MLB DFS lineups, so let’s dive into today’s playbook! Be sure to check in with our MLB DFS Tools, with the daily MLB projectionsMLB DFS rostership projections, and our MLB DFS Lineup Generator when building those lineups today to help you decide which players you should be targeting!

Atlanta Braves vs Colorado Rockies: There are some thunderstorms this afternoon, but should be totally clear before the game starts.

DFS Lineup Construction Thoughts

At today's top end of pitching, we have three “Aces” taking the mound between Kevin Gausman, Blake Snell, and Zac Gallen. I am probably avoiding Zac Gallen because he has to face the Los Angeles Dodgers, but I am happily taking either of the other two, with Kevin Gausman being my favorite of the top to target. We have some other great pitchers today beyond them, though, with my favorites coming from the mid-tier. On the offensive side, the big standout is the Atlanta Braves in Coors; even if it is the obvious play, I am still going there with that offense in Colorado being too great to pass up. Beyond them, some of my other favorites to target today include the San Diego Padres, Seattle Mariners, Texas Rangers, Baltimore Orioles, Cincinnati Reds, Minnesota Twins, Boston Red Sox, and the Chicago Cubs

Favorite Starters to Use for DFS Lineups

Kenta Maeda, Minnesota Twins

Kenta Maeda gave up 10 runs against the New York Yankees before landing on the IL on April 26th; since then, he has had a 2.91 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and 74 strikeouts in 58.2 innings while only walking 17. The strikeouts have been the most impressive thing, and facing the Cleveland Guardians today, he should get plenty and hopefully be able to get a win that has evaded him over his last 4 starts.

Bryan Woo, Seattle Mariners

I don’t think Bryan Woo gets enough attention because of how good the entire Seattle Mariners rotation is. He looked solid in his return but was limited to 65 pitches. Hopefully, he is able to jump up to at least 80+ pitches, and if so, he should be able to get plenty of innings to be in line for the win and get quite a few strikeouts against the Oakland Athletics.

Favorite Hitters to Use for DFS Lineups

Justin Turner, 1B Boston Red Sox

May we all have the good fortune to age as gracefully as Justin Turner. He keeps getting it done in his age-38 season. Over his last 13 games, he has smacked 5 homers to go along with a .340/.431/.680 slash line, including 2 homers and a double off 4 hits over his last two games. He remains an absolute force at the plate and should have no problems producing in a solid Boston Red Sox offense today, facing the struggling Cristian Javier

Mookie Betts, 2B/OF Los Angeles Dodgers

You cannot convince me that Mookie Betts is human. One of the greatest baseball players over the last decade, Mookie Betts, is having his best season since his MVP year in 2018 at age 30 for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He is just a homer away from breaking the career high he hit last year with 35. Over the last 6 games, after getting 2 days of rest, he has piled up 16 hits with a .615/.655/.885 slash line, including his 5-hit game against Cleveland and back-to-back 3-hit games over his last two starts. I don’t care what his price is; I want Mookie Betts in any lineup I can get him in.

Royce Lewis, 3B Minnesota Twins

Royce Lewis is starting to show some of that raw power we know he has. He has 3 homers over his last 5 games. I really believe if he hadn’t been struggling with injuries all year, he would be way higher priced than he is right now. He is still slashing .312/.358/.500 through his 37 games this season with 7 home runs and 2 stolen bases. I think he is going to continue to be a force for the Minnesota Twins and a huge fantasy asset if he can remain healthy.

Julio Rodriguez, OF Seattle Mariners

There is nobody that is hotter than Julio Rodriguez right now. He is now on a 12-game hitting streak over which he has slashed .491/.532/.789 with 4 homers, 8 steals, 5 doubles, 10 runs, and 18 RBIs. He now has home runs in back-to-back games for the second time during this hitting streak, and while his price is high, it feels impossible for him not to be one of the top-scoring players on the slate every single day right now.
