We have an eight-game MLB DFS main slate on Monday, April 17th, on DraftKings and FanDuel, now that the Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago White Sox game has been postponed. We have elite pitchers on today's slate such as Jacob deGrom, Corbin Burnes, Kevin Gausman, and Cristian Javier. It's a Coors Field slate as the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Colorado Rockies duke it out with the highest implied total on the board. Be sure to check in with our MLB DFS Tools, with the daily MLB projections, MLB DFS Ownership projections, and our MLB DFS Lineup Generator. Lets dive into today's content!

Favorite Starters to Use for DFS Lineups

Jacob deGrom, Texas Rangers vs. Kansas City Royals

That first start against the Phillies seems like it didn’t even happen at this point. deGrom has been his usual dominant self the last two outings notching a 20:2 K:BB ratio across 13 innings pitched. He’s flashed 35 DKP upside and truthfully, he’s not going to be under 11K for much longer. He’s the top arm of the play by a country mile.

Corbin Burnes vs. Seattle Mariners

We saw the real Corbin Burnes his last time out as he dominated the Diamondbacks, notching eight scoreless innings while striking out eight. Burnes was unlucky in his first two outings and this price point is just too cheap. It’s a good pitching environment in Seattle and against righties this year, they have a 23.3% K-rate and are just 19th in OPS. Love going back to the well on Burnes who’s -165 on Dk Sportsbook to go OVER his implied 6.5 strikeout total.

Jack Flaherty vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

Through his first two starts, Flaherty struggled mightily to throw strikes as he walked 13 batters across 10 innings. He cut his walks down last time out and his strikeouts rose as well. Arizona hasn’t struck out a lot against right-handed pitchers but they haven’t walked at all as their 5% BB rate is the lowest mark in the league. Flaherty could get Arizona to chase pitches the entire evening even if he doesn’t have his best stuff. His upside at this price is hard to ignore.

Jordan Lyles vs. Texas Rangers

The win equity may not be there considering he’s matched up with Jacob deGrom, but the price is REALLY appealing. If he keeps the ball in the yard, he has a ceiling. Texas has a 23.8% K-rate this year against right-handed pitchers and their offense just isn’t as potent without Corey Seager and Mitch Garver. He’s not someone I’m interested in for cash games, but I like him in tournaments.

Favorite Hitters to Use for DFS Lineups

Bryan Reynolds, Pittsburgh Pirates

Reynolds has cooled off after an insane start to his 2023 campaign, but has hits in three straight games and gets to hit in Coors Field. Everything suggests Kyle Freeland has had nothing but luck on his side this year allowing just two earned runs across two home starts. That luck changes today with Reynolds. He had a .787 OPS and .342 against left-handed pitching just a year ago.

Ozzie Albies, Atlanta Braves

The best spot to use Ozzie Albies from now until the end of time is when a southpaw is on the mound. Ryan Weathers takes the hill for San Diego and he’s pitched well, but there are numbers suggesting he’s been a tad lucky. He’s notched a 2.7 ERA, but has a 5.25 SIERA and 4.65 xFIP. Albies is hitting .368 against lefties already this year and for his career, he’s batting .329 with a .912 OPS and .227 ISO.

Jurickson Profar, Colorado Rockies

We have an elite spot for the Colorado Rockies as they face the ageless wonder in Rich Hill. All of Profar’s damage this year has come at home as both of his home runs have been in Coors Field. I mention the home run ball because Rich Hill has allowed six bombs through three starts already. Rich Hill’s 51.9% flyball rate is not going to play in Coors Field.

Corbin Carroll, Arizona Diamondbacks

How long are we going to do this song and dance? He’s STILL $3,100 on DraftKings? HELLO?  Carroll is hitting over .300, and has four home runs and six stolen bases already. I like Jack Flaherty, but what are we doing here? He’s closer to a $5,000 player than he is a $3,000 player.
