Let’s start the week on the right foot with some winning lineups today. We have a 4-game main slate in store for us this afternoon on DraftKings and FanDuel starting at 3:08 PM ET. Today, we have plenty of talent on the diamond and many different ways to build your lineup. Our expert analysis is here to guide you through the top pitchers, value plays, and stackable offenses to target.

Whether chasing big GPP prizes or grinding cash games, we’ve got you covered with insights tailored to today’s matchups. Let’s jump right into the key plays and strategies to dominate the slate!

This season's MLB DFS picks and playbook will consist of a pitcher and hitter core players section with written analysis, player pool grid and core stacks section.

The core player section should be used as a starting point for all lineups, you may not be able to use all players in the same lineup, but those players should be the building blocks for you on a given night.

The player pool grid will feature both players from the core player section along with additional plays to help you build a complete lineup. The grid will be broken into top priced players, mid-priced players and value tier players.

The stacks section will bring you are favorite lineups stacks for the day and which players we would look to include in those stacks based on matchups and pricing.

MLB DFS Picks & MLB Playbook

MLB Weather: Wednesday, 10/8

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Chicago Cubs

There are cool temperatures and winds blowing in. That's always a great thing for pitching when it comes to Wrigley Field, a field that is impacted by wind more than any other ballpark in the league.

Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers

Let's get into today's core pitching plays for our DFS lineups

Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers have the Phillies on the ropes as they're up 2-0 in the series and are one win away from a sweep. They send one of the best pitchers in the league to the mound to bury them. Yamamoto is in some form right now, notching 21.8 DKP or more in SEVEN consecutive games and has been over 27 in five of his last six. He's been missing a LOT of bats posting 7+ Ks in six straight games. Elite option in any and all formats.

Cam Schlittler, New York Yankees

Can Cam Schlittler do it again? He had one of the more memorable postseason outings in recent memory – if not ever. He's been fantastic all year and has an incredibly high ceiling, but can he shake the demons of his last outing against the Blue Jays? The Blue Jays don't strike out a lot, but if Schlittler's fastball is playing like it did against Red Sox, he has a chance to dominate again.

Quinn Priester, Milwaukee Brewers

The Brewers don't lose many Quinn Priester starts. In fact, before his final outing of the year, the team had won 19 straight in which Priester pitched in. Priester has pitched extremely well this year and could have a slightly longer leash because the Brewers are up 2-0 in the series. Priester has a 56% GB rate and a career-high 20.2% K-rate.

Bryce Miller, Seattle Mariners

I think Bryce Miller could be stacked against, but it's undoubtedly a good matchup because of how poor the Tigers offense has been. Over the last 30 days, the Tigers rank 24th in OPS and wRC+ and 25th in wOBA against righties. They've also struck out 27.5% of the time against righties over that span. Miller has bad numbers in the second half but some of it looks a little unlucky. His K-rate was up, his BB rate was down, and his xFIP was down to 4.06.

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters

Let's check out today's core plays to build our lineups around.

Core MLB DFS Hitters

Dodgers in Tricky Spot

This is a good spot to start the game because Aaron Nola hasn't been able to get lefties out allowing a .252 ISO and .369 wOBA this year, but Ranger Suarez is looming behind Nola if he gets into any trouble, which is the tricky part.

BUT..lefties against Nola are GOOD.

Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, Max Muncy, and Tommy Edman. We all know playoff Enrique Hernandez is in play, too. Mookie Betts and Teoscar Hernandez have had big postseasons thus far. You can play a LOT of Dodgers.

Yankees Power

The Yankees are really good offensively when they hit home runs. They hit two big home runs in Game 3 and they end up scoring nine runs. The Blue Jays are going with a bullpen game and have four lefties and a bunch of righties, too.

Aaron Judge is the primary member of the stack, but how many pitches does he actually see? This is going to fall on Trent Grisham, Cody Bellinger, Giancarlo Stanton, and Ben Rice because of it.

Brew Crew Hitting Home Runs now, I Guess

Home runs are the name of the game for the Brewers right now, at least in Game 2 as all of their runs were scored via the long ball and that is a great recipe against Jameson Taillon who draws the start for the Cubs.

Taillon allowed 24 HR this year (14 to LH, 10 to RH) but righties were the one's doing more damage. He allowed 2.02 HR/9 and a .234 ISO to right-handed hitters.

The three righties I'm highlighting for the Brewers are Jackson Chourio (he's on fire), William Contreras (he's also on fire), and Andrew Vaughn (homered in Game 2).

I'm not shying away from the lefties either because in a stack, I want shares of Christian Yelich, Brice Turang, and Sal Frelick.

Mariners Righties + Cal Raleigh

Every time Casey Mize has taken the mound, I've prioritized the righty bats because he's been reverse splits all year long and that's not changing today. The one thing that we have to note is Tigers manager AJ Hinch will absolutely go to their bullpen at the FIRST sign of trouble because this series could end for the Tigers.

BUT, while Mize is out there, Julio Rodriguez, Randy Arozarena, and Eugenio Suarez are the top options.

It's VERY hard to ignore Cal Raleigh in a Mariners stack and we saw the upside that Jorge Polanco and J.P. Crawford have at their cheap price points.

Tigers are..Interesting, Especially the Lefties

So like I mentioned above, Bryce Miller has been quite awful this year and it's possible that he simply serves up multiple meatballs on a platter. The Tigers have some pop in their lineup – a lineup that hasn't been good – and that can show up against a pitcher like Miller.

vs. LH - .273 ISO, .215 xISO, .367 wOBA, .368 xwOBA

vs. RH - .173 ISO, .179 xISO, .337 wOBA, .356 xwOBA

With lefty numbers like that, Kerry Carpenter, Riley Greene, Colt Keith, Zach McKinstry, and Parker Meadows are all on the table.

Of course you can play Spencer Torkelson and his power or Gleyber Torres atop the Tigers lineup.
