This season's MLB DFS picks and playbook will consist of a pitcher and hitter core players section with written analysis, player pool grid and core stacks section.

The core player section should be used as a starting point for all lineups, you may not be able to use all players in the same lineup, but those players should be the building blocks for you on a given night.

The player pool grid will feature both players from the core player section along with additional plays to help you build a complete lineup. The grid will be broken into top priced players, mid-priced players and value tier players.

The stacks section will bring you our favorite lineups stacks for the day and which players we would look to include in those stacks based on matchups and pricing.

There will also be a daily MLB DFS Show with a variety of hosts ranging from myself, Jon Impemba, Howard Bender, and James Grande. The MLB DFS Show will give you an initial outlook on the day's MLB DFS slate and should give you a good base for the start of your research each day!

Texas Rangers vs Washington Nationals

  • Chance of rain early in the day that could lead to a potential delay.

Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers

We have an interesting main slate in terms of pitching today.  We have a lot of mid-rotation or lower pitchers toeing the rubber day.  However, some of them still have some good upside in their respective matchups.

High-end options include Hunter Brown, Jacob deGrom and Ranger Suarez.  The mid-range includes Gavin Williams and Adrian Houser.  Paydown options offer some solid upside with Michael Wacha and Ryan Weathers.

Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Hunter Brown, Houston Astros - DraftKings $10,300 | FanDuel $11,000

Brown is looking like a very viable Cy Young candidate. He enters Saturday with 1.83 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 84 Ks in 73.2 IP.

Brown enters this matchup against the Cleveland Guardians with limited history against their hitters in the past.  He had one start against the Guardians during the 2024 season.  He put up 19 FanDuel points and 9.8 DraftKings points.  Look for Brown to have more success against the Guardians today.

Ranger Suarez, Philadelphia Phillies - DraftKings $8,800 | FanDuel $10,400

Suarez has been on a roll as of late with 5 straight quality starts.  He enters Saturday with 2.72 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 33 Ks in 36.1 IP.

Suarez enters this matchup against the Pittsburgh Pirates with good history against their hitters in the past.  He has one start against the Pirates already in 2025.  He put up 40 FanDuel points and 21.5 DraftKing points.  He also had one start against the Pirates during the 2024 season.  He put up 52 FanDuel points and 31.1 DraftKings points. Look for Suarez to continue his success against the Pirates on Saturday.

Jacob deGrom, Texas Rangers - DraftKings $9,400 | FanDuel $9,700

deGrom has returned to form during the 2025 season.  He enters Saturday with 2.34 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 66 Ks in 69.1 IP.  

He faces a Washington Nationals lineup that he has good but limited history against in the past.  He did not pitch against the Nationals during the 2024 season.  Look for deGrom to continue his strong performance as of late on Saturday.  

Michael Wacha, Kansas City Royals - DraftKings $6,500 | FanDuel $8,800

Wacha is my favorite paydown pitcher for Saturday’s slate.  He enters Saturday with 2.88 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 50 Ks in 68.2 IP.  

Wacha enters this matchup against the Chicago White Sox with good history against their hitters in the past.  He has one start against the White Sox already in 2025.  He put up 46 FanDuel points and 27.4 DraftKing points.  He had four starts against the White Sox during the 2024 season.  He put up 40, 52, 28 and 55 FanDuel points and 21.5, 30.8, 13.9 and 34 DraftKings points in those starts.  Look for Wacha to continue his success against the White Sox on Saturday.

 

 

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters

It is an interesting slate for hitters as we have a lot of mid-rotation or lower pitchers toeing the rubber today.  Feel free to mix and match your hitters across multiple lineups.

Arizona Diamondbacks, Cincinnati Reds, Atlanta Braves, Texas Rangers and Philadelphia Phillies should be the front runners in terms of top teams to stack.

Core MLB DFS Hitters

Nick Castellanos, Philadelphia Phillies - DraftKings $4,000 | FanDuel $2,900

Castellanos has been streaky once again this season.  However, he is currently on a 3 game hitting streak.  He has 1 multi game and 1 HR during that time span.

Castellanos is 6 for 11 against Andrew Heaney, the expected starting pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates.  Look for a strong performance out of Nick Castellanos and the Phillies lineup on Saturday.

Jeremy Pena, Houston Astros - DraftKings $4,500 | FanDuel $3,200

Pena has been on an absolute tear as of late.  He is currently on a 12 game hitting streak.  He has 8 multi hit games and 3 HRs during this time span.  

He has fared well against Guardians expected starting pitcher Gavin Williams in the past.  He is 1 for 1 against Williams in his career.  Look for Pena to continue his hot streak on Saturday!

Jesus Sanchez, Miami Marlins - DraftKings $3,500 | FanDuel $2,900

Sanchez has started to heat up as of late.  He has at least one hit in 8 of his last 9 games started.  He has 4 multi hit games and 2 HRs during this stretch.

Sanchez has good history in the past against expected Rays starting pitcher Taj Bradley  He is 2 for 4 against Bradley in his career.  Sanchez looks like an interesting one-of play on Saturday’s slate.

Edmundo Sosa, Philadelphia Phillies - DraftKings $3,300 | FanDuel $2,500

Sosa has been very hit or miss as of late.  However, I wanted to add him based on his past history and positional versatility.  He is eligible at 2B and 3B on DraftKings and 2B, SS, 3B and OF on FanDuel.

Sosa has good history in the past against expected Pirates starting pitcher Andrew Heaney  He is 4 for 4 against Heaney in his career.  Sosa looks like a value play, who also fits nicely in a Philadelphia Phillies stack.

Lourdes Gurriel, Arizona Diamondbacks - DraftKings $3,600

Gurriel has come back to life as of late.  He is currently on a 11 game hitting streak.  He has 5 multi hit games and 1 HR during this stretch.

Gurriel is 2 for 3 with 1 HR against Reds expected starting pitcher Nick Martinez.  He looks like a key piece to an Arizona Diamondbacks stack for Saturday’s slate!  Please note the Diamondbacks and Reds game is not on the FanDuel main slate.
