MLB DFS Lineup Picks: Starting Pitchers

MLB DFS Top Pitchers

Bryce Miller (SEA)

Analysis: Miller has posted elite numbers this season, including a 2.27 ERA, 29.5% strikeout rate, and 4.1% walk rate. His last two starts have been a little shaky, but he'll look to get back on track against an average Rangers offense.

Logan Webb (SF)

Analysis: Webb has been less consistent than in past seasons, but he has still put together a solid season. He owns a 3.87 ERA and still produces a ton of ground balls with minimal walks. When the elite pitcher's park and matchup are factored in, Webb vaults to the top of the list tonight. The Angels strike out at the highest rate in baseball and own a below-average 95 wRC+ against right-handed pitching.

MacKenzie Gore (TEX)

Analysis: Gore will look to get back on track after allowing 5+ runs in three of his last four starts. He draws a plus matchup against a Mariners team that has posted just an 87 wRC+ and a 23.8% strikeout rate against lefties this season.

MLB DFS Value Pitchers

Trey Yesavage (TOR)

Analysis: Yesavage has struggled with walks this season, but he has been quite effective when he can keep them in check. Overall, he has posted a 3.78 ERA and 23.3% strikeout rate, with an even more impressive 13.4% swinging-strike rate. The matchup with Boston looks great on paper, even if they just lost their first game since July 1st. For the season, the Red Sox own a putrid 87 wRC+ and have struck out 22.3% of the time against right-handed pitching.

Trevor Rogers (BAL)

Analysis: Rogers got off to a rocky start this season, but he has been in dominant form recently. Over his last eight starts, the lefty has posted a 1.69 ERA, allowing more than one run in just two of those outings. Atlanta has somewhat surprisingly been a below-average offense against lefties this season. Rogers has solid upside tonight even if Acuna is able to return for the Braves.

Dustin May (STL)

Analysis: May might be the sneakiest play on the board tonight if you can look past the recent struggles. He's allowed 5+ runs in three of his last five starts, but he also draws a truly elite matchup tonight. The Reds have posted the lowest wRC+ and second-highest strikeout rate when facing right-handed pitching this season, and they are on the road away from their hitter-friendly home ballpark.

Best Odds For A Win

The following MLB DFS picks offer a combination of favorable win odds, sustainable ERA and xFIP metrics, and soft opponent matchups. Each carries K-prop lines worth noting alongside their DFS value at reduced ownership relative to the top tier.

MLB DFS Lineup Picks: Stacks & Hitters

MLB DFS Top Hitters

Byron Buxton (OF, MIN) & Ryan Jeffers (C, MIN)

Analysis: Buxton returned from the IL with four hits in his first three games back. They were all singles, but it's only a matter of time before the power shows up. The Twins' best power hitter against lefties this season has been Jeffers, who owns a .204 ISO against them. Lopez has surrendered a .229 ISO to righties this season.

Munetaka Murakami (1B, CWS) & Colson Montgomery (SS/3B, CWS)

Analysis: Murakami is one of the top hitters on the slate, as he has posted a massive .327 ISO against righties this season. Montgomery has been really solid as well, with an impressive .226 ISO against righties. Arrighetti has allowed a .189 xISO to lefties, and his walk rate is hovering above 12%.

Kyle Stowers (1B, MIA) & Liam Hicks (C, MIA)

Analysis: The best matchup of the day might belong to these Marlins lefties. Marquez has been smashed for a .313 ISO by left-handed hitters this season. Stowers is up at .225 ISO against righties, while Hicks is at .198 ISO. Hicks gets on base a little more with a robust .380 wOBA.

MLB DFS Value Hitters

Griffin Conine (OF, MIA) & Joe Mack (C, MIA)

Analysis: Conine has posted an elite .313 ISO in his limited time this season, while Mack is at .212 ISO in his first 149 plate appearances against righties. Marquez has a huge lefty power problem, allowing a .313 ISO to them.

Carlos Cortes (OF, ATH) & Donnie Walton (2B, ATH)

Analysis: Cortes is going to be one of the most popular hitters on the slate, hitting in the middle of the A's lineup. The same can be said for Walton, who is a standout at the weak 2B position. They both swing from the left side against a pitcher that has allowed a .212 xISO to lefties this season.

Royce Lewis (1B/3B, MIN)

Analysis: Lewis has gotten his season back on track since returning from a brief stint back to the minors. Since his recall, he has posted a 112 wRC+ and a .207 ISO. Lopez has a strikeout rate under 16% to righties, and he's given up a .227 ISO to them.

Gavin Sheets (OF, SD) & Jake Cronenworth (2B, SD)

Analysis: Padres lefties are in a great spot against Gusto today. The righty has managed less than 16% strikeouts to lefties while allowing a .167 ISO/.173 xISO to them. Sheets has raked against righties all season, with a .222 ISO. Cronenworth has turned his season around since returning from an injury, posting 113 wRC+ over his last 20 games.

MLB DFS Lineups: Core MLB DFS Hitters & Pitchers

The "Chalk" (Popular)

The "Pivot" (Low

Owned)

The Winning Logic
Gore (SP, chalk)May (SP, lower owned)Gore has had a home run problem recently, and May draws a truly elite matchup. May had a stretch where he was flashing elite upside. If he returns to that form this start, there could be a huge edge to be gained.
Marlins (Chalk)Twins (pivot stack)The Marlins are attractively priced in a great spot, so they understandably are popular. It is the Twins who actually have the highest implied team total on the slate.
Cortes + Walton (chalk)Sheets + Cronenworth (lower owned)The Padres value options are excellent pivots off the more popular A's. Sheets has had a great season, and Cronenworth has been excellent recently. They also draw a great matchup.
