Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Infielders
Isaac Paredes, Houston Astros
46% Rostered on Yahoo! Fantasy
FAAB - 9-10%
The fact that Isaac Paredes is under 50% rostered on Yahoo! Fantasy speaks to how bad of a start he got off to. He’s absolutely rollin’ right now posting three home runs, five runs, and nine runs batted in over his last four games. Third base a black hole and Paredes has had a really high peak in his career and has been floating around a 20 home run hitter in four consecutive seasons. He’s a really good on-base guy and his walk rate is actually down from years past, so an increase there could be baked into the add and that’ll make him even more valuable.
Curtis Mead, Washington Nationals
27% Rostered on Yahoo! Fantasy
FAAB - 5-6%
You can’t spell Curtis Mead without a really red Baseball Savant page. I mean a really, really red page.
The Nationals continue to hit him in the middle of the lineup and he’s going to see plenty of pitches being sandwiched between James Wood and CJ Abrams. Mead’s up to an .845 OPS at the worst position in fantasy; third base. He has a ton of value for the remainder of the season.
Royce Lewis, Minnesota Twins
21% Rostered on Yahoo! Fantasy
FAAB - 2-3%
If you’re adding Royce Lewis, there’s obvious risk that comes along with it. He was sent down for a reason and despite how talented he is – because he’s insanely talented – he’s struggled at the major league level this year. Now, in 15 minor league games this year, he belted 10 (!!!) home runs and hit .333. He qualifies at third base but in the minors, he was playing second base and the first game back after his call-up he played second as well. Having eligibility at two of the worst positions is super valuable.
Bryce Eldridge, San Francisco Giants
16% Rostered on Yahoo Fantasy
FAAB - 7-8%
I can say I was not expecting THIS out of Bryce Eldridge but his numbers look fantastic on the surface and under the hood as well. Let’s look at some of the actual versus under-the-hood stuff for Eldridge this year;
- .291 AVG / .311 xBA
- .456 SLG / .542 xSLG
- .359 wOBA / .396 xwOBA
His eye at the dish has been elite and he’s not striking out nearly as much as he has at every level. He’s had a 28% K-rate or higher at every level since 2025. It’s down to just 24.4% since being called up this season and we can absolutely deal with that. I’m very interested in Eldridge who has first base eligibility in some places and is five games away on other platforms.
Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Outfielders
Carson Benge, New York Mets
35% Rostered on Yahoo! Fantasy
FAAB - 8-9%
This Carson Benge kid is a GOOD ballplayer. He’s a really good fantasy asset for the remainder of the season. He has power and speed as he’s already up to six home runs and 10 steals on the year. This is his whole profile this year thanks to Baseball Savant;
Benge has a 111 wRC+ as the Mets’ leadoff hitter this year and it’ll be interesting to see how the Mets handle his lineup position when Francisco Lindor returns.
Jung Hoo Lee, San Francisco Giants
27% Rostered on Yahoo! Fantasy
FAAB - 5-6%
Jung Hoo Lee is one of the hottest hitters in the league and there’s nothing anyone can do about it. Over his last 18 games, Lee has hit .432 and over his last nine games his batting average is at a whopping .595. Both of those numbers are unsustainable, but it’s helped raise his average up to .324 on the year. He hasn’t even flashed his speed yet and he had 10 steals last year, so that should give him a higher fantasy floor.
Noelvi Marte, Cincinnati Reds
37% Rostered on Yahoo! Fantasy
FAAB - 3-4%
Adding Noelvi Marte is similar to adding Royce Lewis. You’re adding the talent and hoping that it finally clicks. Marte still has third base eligibility baked in from a year ago even though he’s going to play in the outfield. He, like Lewis, crushed Triple-A pitching and has plenty of power and speed. It’s risky, but it’s the reward that COULD come with the addition that could help you win your league.
Lars Nootbaar, St. Louis Cardinals
3% Rostered on Yahoo! Fantasy
FAAB - 2-3%
We saw Lars Nootbaar return two games ago and he’s had a massive fantasy impact in that short period of time. Nootbaar doesn’t excel at anything but is just simply good everywhere. He doesn’t strike out and gets on base a ton and is a player that typically will hit double-digit home runs and has the upside to steal double-digit bases. It’s not going to cost you nearly any chunk of your FAAB.
Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pitchers
Walbert Urena, Los Angeles Angels
45% Rostered on Yahoo! Fantasy
FAAB - 8-9%
I cannot stress this enough and this is probably the last time Walbert Urena makes this article; I’m all in on this guy. If he gets his walks in order, he’s going to terrorize opposing lineups. Urena has a 51% GB rate and the strikeouts are on the rise. I’ve been saying it but i’ll say it again, the strikeouts are going up and the indicators have always been there. He’s up to a 12% SwStr rate this season so it isn’t surprising to see him notch over 10 K/9 in two of his last three starts.
It’s beautiful. It’s truly beautiful. Urena is a must-add if he’s still available.
Troy Melton, Detroit Tigers
25% Rostered on Yahoo! Fantasy
FAAB - 6-7%
Despite how well he’s pitched, Troy Melton hasn’t missed ANY bats or had ANY strikeouts to this point. He’s only allowed four earned runs in 20.2 innings this year and has just nine punch outs. He’s not generating any whiffs either (7.6%) so it’ll be interesting to see if that changes considering how dominant he’s been at the minor league level at those two things specifically. He had a 16.5% SwStr and 35.6% K-rate in his rehab assignment before being called back up. Despite the lack of strikeouts, he’s a great add.
Gage Jump, Athletics
20% Rostered on Yahoo! Fantasy
FAAB - 5-6%
If you roster Gage Jump or put a waiver claim on him, the concern is obviously the fact that he pitches his home games in Sacramento at Sutter Health Park. That’s really not a good thing. Jump is a highly coveted prospect that has missed bats since last year at a really high clip and despite not missing many bats through his first two starts at the major league level. All the stuff under the hood looks GOOD.
Alex Lange, Kansas City Royals
10% Rostered on Yahoo! Fantasy
FAAB - 4-5%
The Royals were reeling at the end of games and Alex Lange, for now, has been the answer in the ninth inning. He’s had a three save week and he’s missing a bunch of bats. As the closer, he’s had seven strikeouts in four innings and hasn’t allowed a run. His 4.03 ERA doesn’t really tell the whole story because he’s only allowed one earned run since May 8th as he’s gone nearly a full month of dominating opposing offenses. He’s available everywhere and is the best option for saves on the waiver wire.
