Investing Heavily

Noah Syndergaard, NYM - All of the top pitchers have some things working against them. Syndergaard is the best of the big names with the Mets riding a 8 game winning streak.  Tampa is the worst hitting team vs RHP in the American League strike out about 22% of the time.  New York has baseball magic on their side right now and Syndergaard should be able to get his first road win of the season.

Moderately Priced

Garrett Richards, LAA - Has been very good at home sporting a 2.36 ERA with a 0.95 WHIP.  Baltimore does have some power bats but also sport a 22% K rate vs RHP.  The Angles should be able to get to Ubaldo Jimenez who has struggled big time lately to get Richards a win.

Trevor Bauer, CLE - Despite the offense outburst from the Twins last night, they had been ice cold before that.  Minnesota is in the bottom 10 in wOBA and K rate vs RHP in MLB.  Bauer can be a bit hit & miss but is on a good run right now.  The encouraging thing as well is he didn’t have his best stuff last time out and still pitched solid after a rough start.

Middle Class

Collin McHugh, HOU - Has been very solid in 7 of his last 9 starts.  Oakland doesn’t strikeout much but also lack any real dangerous hitters either.  McHugh has only given 1 run in two career starts vs. the A’s.  Jesse Chavez has been falling apart as he usually does as the season goes on so the Astos should get him plenty of run support.

Matt Latos, LAD - 7 of his last 8 starts he has limited his opponents to less than 3 runs.  Latos doesn’t go very deep into games  so he lacks big upside.  His low price and pitcher friendly ballpark but him a decent spot.

Bargain Basement

Jeremy Guthrie, KC - I know he has huge problems with left handed hitters but the good news is that the White Sox lack power..  Guthrie also has the fact that Kansas City is one of the hardest places to hit a home run.  He has a sub 4.00 ERA at home so I am definitely not highly recommending him but if you want a dirt cheap pitcher this is your best option.
