He’s given up 4+ runs in 4 different outings, but has also allowed 2 runs or fewer in 3 other games. The same has been true with his strikeouts. 

Eovaldi has 7 strikeouts in 4 of his 7 starts so far, but also finished with 5 or fewer in his 3 other outings. On Wednesday, a tough matchup could result in one of those down efforts on the road against the New York Yankees.

He’s also allowed 2 runs or fewer in 4 of those 5 outings. He’s now in a good spot on Wednesday against the Washington Nationals. 

In particular, Ober is a strong candidate to give up fewer than 5.5 hits in this matchup. He’s stayed under that mark in 6 of his 7 starts this season, while holding opponents to a .211 batting average overall. Walks have been a minor concern, but he’s consistently done a solid job of limiting hits.
