San Francisco Giants vs. Atlanta Braves: Thursday, June 18th
Its the end of a series tonight as the Giants are cross country to take on the Braves for the the last in the three game tilt. Being away from home has been bad for the Giants on the season as they are 17-23 on the road, can they turn things around? Let's dive into the matchup.
Landon Roupp will pitch for the Giants tonight and he's not an inspiring pitcher to me. His underlying metrics are better than what we see at 3.36 xERA but on paper is as far as he ever goes it seems. In June in his two starts he has an ERA of 8.16 and OBA of .283, not good form coming into a matchup against one of the best teams in baseball. The Braves score 5.01 runs per game and some bats in the lineup are red hot right now. Mix that with them being 22-13 at home this season I think they take the win tonight against Roupp and Martin Perez holds down the fort on his side.
On top of the Braves victory I like what I'm seeing from their slugger Matt Olson. Over his last five games and 21 at bats Olson has 10 total vases, three runs and two RBIs. He also has a hit in all but two games in the month of June and we're 13 games in! Olson on the season has hit right handed pitching well too with a .904 OPS and has 12 of his 20 home runs on the season against that split. Over on hits/runs/RBIs for me tonight on the Braves slugger please!

New York Mets vs. Philadelphia Phillies: Thursday, June 18th
Nothing like a rivalry weekend series in the NL East to kick off a long four game tilt. The Mets have been very publicly struggling as the Phillies have been one of the best teams since Memorial Day. Should be a fun matchup this afternoon, let's get into the numbers.
Aaron Nola will go up against Sean Manaea and that immediately raises some flags to bet the over for a well informed baseball bettor. Aaron Nola has been getting dismantled through three starts in June allowing 10 earned runs over 14 innings pitched and 16 total hits. His wOBA is a whopping .360 as well so nothing is good in the life of Aaron Nola. On the Mets side its not much better as Manaea holds a wOBA of .334 on the season with struggles against righty and lefty hitters as both sides are hitting over .250 off him. The Phillies offense does strikeout a lot which will help a bit but with their isolated power marks over the past couple of weeks it could be a rough go of things. Knowing all of that I am going to take the over as its hit in 21 of 39 games at Citizens Bank Park this season.
