Rangers vs. Braves Predictions: Saturday, July 18th

After a 15-1 thumping, I'm sure the Rangers are glad baseball is a daily sport and you can just move on. That's nice in practice, but today might not go well for the Texas visitors either. MacKenzie Gore will head to the mound today and he has not pitched well since May. Over his three starts in July, he has an ERA of 8.36 and has given up 18 hits and four homers over 14 innings pitched. A couple of these poor outings came against the Guardians and Angels too, but the Braves are a much tougher challenge. 

That's where the bets come in today, as the Braves are looking to keep rolling at home where their record is 28-18 on the season. Over 13 games in the month of July, they've smashed the baseball with a .200 isolated power mark and a .300 team BABIP. The Rangers, for what its worth, have had the hot bats too. They have a .198 ISO in July and a .334 wOBA as a team. I think the bats rule the day and we need to be taking the over today. 

On top of the over, there are some bats that will need to help it happen! Drake Baldwin is the name I will be looking at today, as he's hit the ball well in July with a .298 average and .857 OPS. I also like the lefty-on-lefty crime today as Gore has struggled against it and Baldwin is hitting an .811 OPS on the season against the southpaws. Baldwin batting second in a high scoring game? I will go ahead and take the over on hits/runs/RBIs on that one.
