Twins vs. Cubs Predictions: Friday, July 17th

As we get settled into the unofficial second half of the MLB season there are a handful of interleague matchups such as this one with the Twins visiting the Cubs. It will be a pitching matchup that could produce offense with Bailey Ober taking on Colin Rea so let's get into the numbers. 

The Cubs in the weeks leading into the break were crushing the baseball as the team had a .201 isolated power mark and the wOBA jumped to .351! It possible that the break cools things off but against Ober its worth wagering another Cubs offensive explosion. Ober in the month of June had a 5.97 ERA and allowed 33 hits over 28.2 innings pitched. Batters hit .282 against him and the righties and lefties started to expose him. The play tonight is backing the Cubs on the money line but I also like a prop. 

Pete Crow-Armstrong is the name to watch tonight as he finished up pre All-Star game July with a 1.176 OPS and 23 total bases over 10 games. He should be in the drivers seat against Ober tonight as well with PCA hitting .290 against right handed pitchers this season and 12 of his 21 home runs have come at Wrigley Field. Give me the over on the hits/runs/RBIs and let me ride the hot hand.
