Rangers vs. Angels Predictions: August 13th

As this series between AL West rivals wraps up the Rangers will be looking to draw even after falling back two to one in the four game showdown. They have a great chance to do just that with Jacob deGrom on the mound but how does that start affect the betting? Let's get into it!

Over the past two weeks the Angels have the second highest K-rate in the majors at 27.8% and their isolated power mark has fallen to .095, the second lowest. This sets up deGrom for an epic outing even though he has been getting shelled this summer. In the last 23 innings pitched he has reached 29 strikeouts so even if he gets tagged, he should get his. deGrom's near league best “Whiff” rate of 33.3% is also a huge factor in this as well so let's go ahead and ride the arm of the former Cy Young winner.

Phillies vs. Twins Predictions: August 13th

Our next bit of action involves the marquee game of the slate as the Phils and Twins head to Iowa and play on the “Field of Dreams.” Unfortunately the Phillies will send out Aaron Nola so this one could get rough for them tonight. 

Nola has had a tough 2026 season to say the least with his 5.47 ERA and not having allowed fewer than a couple earned runs since mid May. His real issue are the lefties as they've hit 18 homers and a .870 OPS against him this season. That being said the right handed hitter are at .816 in the OPS department too. In the month of August Nola is allowing all hitters overall a .286 average and will walk onto the bump against a Twins team that ranks 12th in isolated power over the past two weeks. 

I don't love the prospects for Taj Bradley today either as his last several starts have been rocky. Over the past five starts Bradley has allowed 14 earned runs over the course 29 innings pitched. His OBA is also up this month to a .267, the highest of the season. I am predicted some runs due to these pitchers tonight and let's all root for the over on the “Field of Dreams.”
