Athletics vs. Rays Prediction: Tuesday, September 15th

As we get into the closing stages of this MLB season we have a matchup between a team that is simply running out the clock against a team that is trying to lock down a division pennant! As the Athletics travel to Tampa Bay to take on the Rays there are plenty of angles to wager on, so let's dive into the trends and numbers. 

The biggest mismatch in this game is Jack Perkins starting on the hill for the A's against this Rays offense. Perkins has been abused over the course of the past month and half allowing 26 earned runs in 35 innings pitched that includes 45 hits, nine home runs and an OBA of over .300. Those numbers heading into a meeting against a Rays offense that has a .172 isolated power mark and .331 wOBA that's a problem for Perkins. The Rays are also masterful on home turf with a record of 50-25 on the season. I like Griffin Jax on the mound for them as well as he's pitched well in two of his last three starts. Let's go ahead and wager on the Rays on the Run Line tonight at near even money to continue their march to the playoffs. 

On top of a Rays victory the bats should go wild tonight. Junior Caminero will be the name to watch as he has 11 total bases in his last 21 at bats and has smoked right handed pitching this season with a .880 OPS and 32 home runs. Caminero is also chasing 100 RBIs right now a big milestone for the young third baseman so over on his hits/runs/RBIs is the play on him tonight.
