MLB Best Bets for June 7

Los Angeles Dodgers at Cincinnati Reds

With Noah Syndergaard on the mound for the Dodgers today, we want to invest in the Reds bats. They’re throwing Brandon Williamson tonight and while I am confident the Dodgers will plate some runs, I’d rather focus on the home team bats than a game total sitting at 11 runs right now. Syndergaard is sitting on a 6.54 ERA and a 1.39 WHIP, pitching to a world of contact with very few positive results. He’s coughed up 11 runs (four home runs) over his last two starts and will now be forced to face an upstart Reds lineup in a VERY favorable hitters’ park. Gotta jump on this number early as the juice is rising, but we like the Reds team total today.

Pick: Cincinnati Reds Team Total over 4.5 runs (-135 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

Pick: Matt McLain over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI (-135 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

Detroit Tigers at Philadelphia Phillies

THIS GAME HAS BEEN POSTPONED

After a decent outing against the White Sox, the Tigers are giving righthander Reese Olson another start today. This time, unfortunately for him, it’s coming against a Phillies team that has won four in a row and comes in with a .348 wOBA and .194 ISO over the past week. There are a number of Phillies swinging a hot bat, so like the Reds, we are going to back the bats and not worry about which version of Zack Wheeler shows up. It obviously helps that the Tigers have posted a league-worst .207 wOBA with a 32.3-percent K-rate over the past week, so we’ll find some decent value here in a run line bet and a batter prop for one of their hottest hitters right now.

Pick: Philadelphia Phillies -1.5 run line (-115 on Caesars Sportsbook)

Pick: Nick Castellanos over 1.5 total bases (+100 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

Kansas City Royals at Miami Marlins

With Jordan Lyles on the mound for the Royals tonight, we are happy to invest in the Marlins who are actually posting a .334 wOBA while winning five in a row. Lyles may have had a nice outing against a hapless Rockies team, but he’s still the same guy who has coughed up at least four runs in each of the previous seven starts. He’s walking too many guys, he’s pitching to too much contact and with Edward Cabrera on the mound for Miami, we believe the Marlins can jump out to an early lead. We’ll look to the first five innings and then hit the prop world for the current NL batting leader.

Pick: Marlins First 5 innings -0.5 Run Line (-125 on BetMGM)

Pick: Luis Arraez over 1.5 total bases (-110 on BetMGM)
