MLB Best Bets for June 4

Cleveland Guardians at Minnesota Twins

These two teams will be wrapping up a 4-game series today as the battle for the AL Central remains a tight one! In the 3 previous games there were 20 total runs and some great pitching duels to go along with some unfortunate injuries on the Twins side of things. Turns out Byron Buxton is okay along with Max Kepler but that didn't do much for the offenses. Not sure things get better either as it seems Triston McKenzie will make his season debut today for Guardians and his numbers were impressive last season with a 2.96 ERA, 190 strikeouts and a WHIP of 0.95. I do worry about the potential of rust but at least McKenzie gets to return against a Twins offense that is scoring just 4.51 runs per game. Against him on the mound today will be Joe Ryan which makes an under in this one even more appealing as Ryan holds an ERA of 2.25 at home this season to go along with 31 strikeouts over 24 innings pitched. To tie it all together is the Guardians anemic offense that is 2nd to last in the MLB in runs per game, lets hit the under here today.

Pick: Cleveland Guardians & Minnesota Twins Under 7.5 Runs (-110 on BetMGM)

Tampa Bay Rays at Boston Red Sox

The AL East rivals end a 3 game series this afternoon as the Rays and Red Sox seek the rubber match with each team grabbing a win so far. I am not interested in picking a winner though but instead eyeing up the game total. Boston has been dynamite at home when it comes to the offensive side of things scoring 6 runs per game which is the 2nd highest rate in the MLB. The Rays aren't slouches on the road either as they have scored 5.68 runs per game which is 2nd best in the league this season. Expectedly this has lead to a lot of game totals going over for each team and as of today no teams in the MLB are ahead of them on that trend. The Rays hit the over in 61.4% of games and the Red Sox hit the over in 60.7% of games, that is number 1 and 2 highest in the MLB. I really don't see the pitching slowing things down either as Tanner Houck takes on Taj Bradley so lets ride the over in this one today at Fenway Park.

Pick: Tampa Bay Rays & Boston Red Sox Over 9 Runs (-110 on Caesars)

Seattle Mariners at Texas Rangers

The Rangers have been one of the top stories in baseball this season and for good reason, the offense is red hot and they are 18-8 at home. They'll also get Nathan Eovaldi on the bump today and he is having one hell of a year thus far. He sits with a record of 7-2 and an ERA of 2.42 but the most impressive part of his play has been the length of his starts. Over the past 6 starts Eovaldi has gone at least 7 innings or more in 5 of them and was dominant through many allowing just 21 hits during that stretch and 4 earned runs during that stretch. He gets to face a Mariners team today that has been stuck in the mud offensively for parts of the season too. Seattle has averaged 4.40 runs scored per game this season and have just 2.33 over the last 3 games. This makes me want to take the Rangers to win with the addition of a Eovaldi pitching prop of outs recorded given his longevity lately for the ace.

Pick: Texas Rangers Money Line (-155 on DraftKings)

Pick: Nathan Eovaldi Over 18.5 Outs Recorded (-108 on BetRivers)
