MLB Best Bets and Betting Picks for June 14
It's the first MLB article of the week here for me and after last weeks 8-4 record I can't wait to get into another week of betting on baseball! Let me first say though, congrats to the Vegas Golden Knights who one the Stanley Cup last night in just their 6th season of existence, that's impressive stuff. Back to baseball though as we have a mixed slate of afternoon and night games with no shortage of interesting wagers between team run totals, strikeout props and game totals! Tons of great angles to bet on so take a peek at what's being offered and if you happen to agree with the rationale take a stab. You got to shoot to get hot and shoot to stay hot so here is what I am looking at for today's action to keep the money train rolling on this MLB Best Bets article.

MLB Best Bets for June 14
Colorado Rockies at Boston Red Sox
It's been a tough stretch for the Red Sox as they have lost as they've lost 7 of their last 10 games and the offense has stifled for many of those games. They may just get the reprive they've been looking for tonight though as they wrap a series with the visiting Rockies. Boston's Garrett Whitlock will go against Colorado's Austin Gomber and on paper that's a fantastic matchup for the Red Sox as Gomber has an ERA of 7.57 and WHIP of 1.75 over 60.2 innings pitched. That means the Money Line is playable for Boston but its very chalky at -240 and I am shying away from that. Instead I'm taking a look at the team total and runs scored for the Red Sox tonight. The number is 5.5 which is high but fair given the matchup tonight. The Red Sox are the 3rd highest scoring team in the MLB this season when at home averaging 5.66 runs per game. With that in the mix give me the home team to put up some runs tonight. In addition to that I am jumping on a prop and that's Rafael Devers going over 2.5 hits, runs and RBIs tonight.
Pick: Boston Red Sox Team Total Over 5.5 Runs (-120 on Caesars)
Pick: Rafael Devers Over 2.5 Hits/Runs/RBIs (+105 on DraftKings)
Miami Marlins at Seattle Mariners
In what is the lowest game total on the board tonight the Marlins wrap up their series with the Mariners tonight out on the west coast. Seeing as the series has had 21 total runs through 2 games you may be surprised to see a number so low but given the matchups tonight it starts to make sense. Eury Perez will start for the Marlins and this season he is holding down a 2.17 ERA and 1.21 WHIP while striking out 30 batters of 29 innings of work. Over the last 3 starts as well Perez has allowed just 1 earned run and the game total has gone under in 2 of those starts. On the other side of the pitching matchup is Luis Castillo who is having a hell of a season with a 2.7 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 92 strikeouts over 76.2 innings pitched. Like Perez his recent form is also impressive allowing just 4 earned runs over the last 4 starts and facing the Marlins who score just 3.97 runs per game should help the cause. The total of 7 runs is a low total and will probably be a betting sweat but given the numbers I have to take the under in this game tonight.
Pick: Miami Marlins & Seattle Mariners Under 7 Runs (-112 on BetRivers)
Atlanta Braves at Detroit Tigers
This game is one of the early ones today so don't wait around to make this bet if you're interested! Spencer Strider will take the mound for the Braves and he is going to be looking for redemption after the Mets blew him up in his last start in which he allowed 8 earned runs over just 4 innings. I will cut him some slack though as the great ones have a bad day sometimes and today is a great matchup for Strider. In 73.2 innings of work this season the Braves ace has 121 total strikeouts, he has also topped his prop of 8.5 Ks in 9 starts so far this season. His opponent in the Tigers represent a potential big outing too as they strikeout 9.16 times per game which is the 6th highest rate in the MLB this season. The Tigers are also dead last in runs scored per game at 3.58 so it could be a tough afternoon for the boys in Detroit. Give me the over on the Strider strikeouts as he should pitch at least 6-7 innings today with ease!
Pick: Spencer Strider Over 8.5 Strikeouts (-140 on PointsBet)
**all bets are one unit unless specifically mentioned.
