We have a great slate of baseball that is starting as I write up this article so if it's too hot this July 4th there's no shame in kicking back that recliner and watching America's past time. Between the full 15 game slate today there are many angles including a Money Line wager, player prop and game total for later this afternoon. MLB Best Bets for July 4

St. Louis Cardinals at Miami Marlins

It's the dog days of summer and the St. Louis Cardinals have still yet to make any headway in the MLB Standings and I'm starting to think they aren't going to at this point. That makes the Marlins a prime candidate to bet on today as they are streaking upwards winning 6 of their last 9 games and they will have Jesus Luzardo on the mound. Luzardo had a stellar June as he held down a 3.28 ERA and 42 strikeouts over 6 starts and should have a field day against a Cardinals team that has had an increased strikeout rate in the last few games. Add on top of that the fact that the Marlins are 26-16 at home they should come away with the win today this afternoon. I am also going to tack on a player prop as Adam Wainwright will be starting for the Cardinals and he has gotten rocked for most of this season. Bryan De La Cruz hasn't been amazing in recent starts but I am going to take a stab on his 2.5 hits, runs, and RBIs and that to go over given the matchup and the fact he is hitting 3rd today in the lineup.

Pick: Miami Marlins Money Line (-175 on PointsBet)

Pick: Bryan De La Cruz Over 2.5 Hits/Runs/RBIs (+125 on DraftKings)

Chicago Cubs at Milwaukee Brewers

The NL Central is up for the taking but right now the Reds and Brewers are in the drivers seat as the Cubs are looking on. The one thing they have in common though is low scoring games for the most part and that is especially true with the Brewers. Milwaukee has gone under in 55.4% of games this season which is a top 10 rate this season and they will have Wade Miley on the bump who had a 1.20 ERA in the month of June over 3 starts. Miley should keep the Cubs at bay and on the other side will be Wade Miley who had an ERA of 2.51 and the Brewers offense is low scoring normally. That makes the line of 9.5 runs a bit puzzling to me so let's head in that direction today as a best bet.

Pick: Chicago Cubs & Milwaukee Brewers Under 9.5 Runs (-115 on BetMGM)
