Who’s ready for some MLB Best Bets and Betting Picks for today? It’s almost been a week since I’ve graced these pages, but my game has remained sharp throughout that time as you can always see on the Bettor Sports Betting Show with Dan Servodidio every Monday through Friday at 4pm ET over on the Fantasy Alarm YouTube page. Not only do we offer up and discuss our MLB bets for the day, but we also hit you with our favorite longshot play of the day (plus-odds), our home run calls and more. We’ve got one afternoon game here on Monday’s already short slate, so let’s get to it.

MLB Best Bets for July 24

Kansas City Royals at Cleveland Guardians

With a couple of southpaws on the mound today in Ryan Yarbrough and Logan Allen, we’ll focus our attention on the first half of this game and avoid the bullpens. Yarbrough suffered a hamstring cramp in his last start but still managed to post a decent outing with three earned runs allowed over 5.2 innings. That outing came off the heels of two string efforts, one of which was against these Guardians where he only allowed one run over six frames. The Guardians have been swinging the bats well recently, but still struggle against lefties, as evidenced by that .297 wOBA against them this season. In the other side, Cleveland is throwing Logan Allen who hasn’t allowed an earned run in his last three appearances (12.2 innings). With the Royals continuously struggling at the plate (.298 wOBA over last seven days) and struggling mightily against lefties (.302 wOBA with a near-25-percnt strikeout rate), we’ll remain bullish on Allen keeping them down early.

Pick: Royals/Guardians 1st 5 Innings Under 5 (-120 on BetMGM)

Cincinnati Reds at Milwaukee Brewers

This battle for the NL Central is going to be a great one to watch this season and these Reds/Brewers series have been spectacular to watch. But the Brewers have gotten the better of Cincinnati this season, winning eight of their last 10 match-ups, including a four-game sweep right at the onset of the second half of the season. But the Reds have now won five in a row and have averaged almost six runs per game in that span. They’re posting a .357 wOBA with a .231 ISO over the past week and will face Colin Rea who has allowed eight earned runs over 9.2 innings against the Reds this season. Meanwhile, Graham Ashcraft has thrown four-straight quality starts, including one against the Brewers where he allowed just one run over six innings, and it looks like he’s turned that much-needed corner here in the second half. The Reds bullpen has just been ok, while the Brewers has been strong lately, but we’re going to ride this Reds offense while they’re hot.

Pick: Cincinnati Reds ML (-105 on Caesars Sportsbook)

Pick: Matt McLain over 0.5 runs (+104 on Caesars Sportsbook)

Texas Rangers at Houston Astros

Astros starter Brandon Bielak has looked solid in his last three outings, but are we really buying into this guy’s recent success? Two good outings against a Rockies team that can never get out of its own way and one to a Mariners team that is striking out at a record rate?  With the Rangers still producing as one of the most prolific offenses in baseball against righthanded pitching, their .325 wOBA and .200 ISO over the past week and their average of five runs per game over their last 10 games, we’re simply going to back their bats in a hitter-friendly park that is just as much a home game for them as it is for the Astros.

Pick: Texas Rangers Team Total over 4.5 runs (+105 on BetMGM)
