MLB Best Bets for July 2

Boston Red Sox at Toronto Blue Jays

Things are heating up in the AL East as the Red Sox sit in last place at .500 even which is just ridiculous but here we are. They are finishing a series today with the Blue Jays having lost the 2 first games. I'm not here to tell you they're going to lose but given the run Kevin Gausman has been on I have to wager on his strikeout prop. His line sits at 7.5 over on many sportsbooks right now and his has topped that in 3 of the last 6 starts and the one's he fell short of the mark were against the Marlins, Rangers and Twins which is understandable. The Red Sox represent a great opportunity to go over again as they've struck out 12 times over the last 3 games and should be swinging again so give me the over on Gausman today.

Pick: Kevin Gausman Over 7.5 Strikeouts (-120 on DraftKings)

New York Yankees at St. Louis Cardinals

The Yankees come into today winners of 6 of the last 10 games and will be looking to get stacking wins today as Gerrit Cole takes the mound against the Cardinals. Cole had a dominant June through 30 innings pitched as he struck out 34 batters and allowed just 8 runs for an ERA of 2.40. A matchup that should be favorable for him in on the docket as well against the St. Louis Cardinals who have struggled for most of the season. The wager will be the game to go under in the 1st 5 Innings as Cole and Montgomery should start during the entirety and the Cardinals starter has been pulling his weight as well with a 3.52 ERA and the Yankees bats can be streaky. The whole game could go any which way and 7.5 in a small total but for 5 innings they should keep the game under wraps.

Pick: New York Yankees and St. Louis Cardinals Under 4 Runs 1st 5 Innings (-105 on DraftKings)
