Jose Caballero, New York Yankees (+241)

Caballero’s numbers against lefties aren’t all that great, but when you’re facing White Sox southpaw Anthony Kay, they don’t need to be. Kay is allowing right-handed hitters to post a .370 wOBA, and Caballero has near-elite sprint speed and a 75-percent success rate on the bases. Chicago backstop Drew Romo has thrown out 24-of-31 baserunners (23-percent), which isn’t bad, but it’s still well below league-average.

Longshot:

Travis Bazzana, Cleveland Guardians – GAME 1 (+475)

We’re going to keep this one running from yesterday. The odds shifted very little, and while Jose Ramirez has the better odds to steal a base, everything else lines up significantly better for Bazzana. The lefty-swinging rookie has been a little up-and-down lately, but he posts an impressive .357 wOBA against right-handed pitching with nine stolen bases to his credit. Chase Burns is an excellent pitcher, but he has allowed a slate-high 17 stolen bases this season and is allowing lefties to post a .309 wOBA against him. With Tyler Stephenson and his 18-percent caught-stealing on 61 attempts this year behind the plate, we’ll look to Bazanna to cash this bet for us.
