It’s never a surprise to see the Los Angeles Dodgers in a prime time game, and for the second straight week, they’re featured on ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball. After an NLCS rematch last weekend against the New York Mets, it’s a World Series rematch against New York’s other team - the Yankees. Therefore, we’ve got our best Yankees vs. Dodgers predictions for tonight.

That also means a best bet from our Yankees vs. Dodgers picks, which we’ll add to with a guaranteed PrizePicks Fantasy sign-up bonus!

Yankees vs. Dodgers Predictions For Sunday Night Baseball, 6/1

It seems as though revenge is going to be a theme throughout our Yankees vs. Dodgers predictions for a few reasons, but of course, namely the fact that this is a World Series rematch. Truthfully, it didn’t seem like LA had much of an issue dispatched NY in 4-1 fashion for the 2024 Fall Classic.

Yet again, the two are poised to meet each other there once again, but there is still so much to play out before we get that far. It may come down to a war of attrition at this point as well, which is quite unfortunate for anyone without a horse in the race.

Both teams are currently putting out a shell of their best starting rotations, especially in LA. We’ll be diving into that specifically given how much of a factor it plays in tonight’s Sunday Night Baseball series finally specifically. Regardless, it’s never a fun prospect having to deal with Aaron Judge.

Of course, Shohei Ohtani just wrapped up a remarkable month of May, so we’re in for a real treat tonight.

New York Yankees: Ryan Yarbrough Looking For Revenge

To keep our theme of revenge in fact, it’s time to dive into who the Yankees are sending to the mound for this featured matchup on ESPN. That would be Ryan Yarbrough, who is now playing for his third AL East team after time with the Tampa Bay Rays and Toronto Blue Jays. The revenge factor comes in with him joining the Jays.

He did so just last season after a season and a half in LA with the Dodgers in which he had 43 appearances - just two of them were starts. With the Dodgers not deeming him an elite reliever, he wasn’t on the roster to earn himself a World Series ring, something that we’d have to imagine he's not thrilled about.

Los Angeles Dodgers: Yamamoto, The Last Man Standing

As for who is leading the charge in LA from a pitching perspective, that would be ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Saying he’s the last man standing may be a big of an exaggeration, but only barely. As noted, the Dodgers starting rotation is in shambles right now from an injury perspective. That starts with Yamamoto’s fellow countryman - Roki Sasaki.

Similarly, superstar Shohei Ohtani has yet to take the mound, although his ability at the plate more than makes up for it. The team knew that lifetime Dodgers Clayton Kershaw would miss plenty of time prior to the season starting, but now having Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow also on the injured list is far from ideal.

Yankees vs. Dodgers Odds, Spreads, Total & Betting Lines

Although this is a matchup of juggernauts, with LA featuring their ace and at home, we aren’t surprised to see them favored according to the latest Yankees vs. Dodgers odds:

Yankees vs. Dodgers Best Bet: Teoscar Hernandez Over 1.5 Total Bases (Add Player Pick ‘Em Lineups At PrizePicks)

There are so many superstars to target in a Yankees vs. Dodgers matchup on both sides, so it should come as no shock that we’re focused on the player prop markets. However, it’s not with one of the names you may be expecting like Aaron Judge or Shohei Ohtani.

Not only do oddsmakers often inflate their lines to provide far less value given their notoriety, but interestingly enough, those were the two that had far from stellar World Series performances last year. Of course, this weekend is a new series, but it’s still worth noting that Judge hit just .222, while Ohtani hit just .105!

It was actually Teoscar Hernandez who fueled the Dodgers to their World Series victory, hitting .350 with a .931 OPS. Even targeting ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto and his strikeout prop may not be worth the high line - he had just four strikeouts against the Yankees in that World Series, and he’s stayed under his prop in four of the last six starts.

Meanwhile, Hernandez has the third-most total bases for LA this year, but trailing only Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman in anything is nothing to be ashamed of. Oh yeah - he’s also hitting .361 with an amazing 1.000 slugging percentage against Ryan Yarbrough!

With that type of history, it’s a no-brainer for us to lock in Teoscar Hernandez over 1.5 total bases (use his player card at PrizePicks) as the best bet from our Yankees vs. Dodgers predictions for Sunday Night Baseball.

Yankees vs. Dodgers Injury Report & Starting Pitchers

Both New York and Los Angeles have massive pitching payrolls on the Yankees vs. Dodgers injury report from Gerrit Cole and Marcus Stroman to Clayton Kershaw, Blake Snell, Tyler Glasnow AND Roki Sasaki.

That’s a massive list of household names, and as for other Yankees vs. Dodgers injury news, New York has concerns with Giancarlo Stanton and Jazz Chisholm, while LA is about as healthy as it gets other than some bullpen arms. Speaking of arm talent, here are the expected Yankees vs. Dodgers starters for Sunday Night Baseball tonight
