Weather Issues

The only game that may get postponed is the Blue Jays and Royals game, but it could also just be a late start. The Red Sox/Phillies, Mets/Orioles, and Rays/Yankees game have some delay potential, but will most likely play.

What’s Happening

Brian Dozier will undergo further testing after he was removed from Monday’s game following a heart issue. Manager Dave Roberts stated that Dozier had an abnormal EKG, which is troubling. Consider him day to day at this time, but he will likely miss some time, if not a while.

Robinson Canó has officially been reactivated from the restricted list. Cano spent 80 games away from the club after being suspended for performance-enhancing drugs and now that he has finished his sentence, he can return to the field. With the organization not wanting to move Dee Gordon off of second base, Cano will play mostly first and maybe some third and second rest of the way. This could potentially get him multi-positional eligibility for the rest of this season and next in some formats.

The Tampa Bay Rays have acquired Shane Baz from the Pirates as the Player to be Named Later in the Chris Archer trade. This is a big get as a PTBNL considering that Baz was the Rays first round pick in last year’s draft and already possesses two plus pitches with the potential for two more above average ones. The biggest question about Baz is his command and control. It needs to improve for him to stay a starter.
