(+210) LGD Gaming v Suning Gaming (-285)
(+375) DRX v T1 (-600)
(+155) Invictus Gaming v LNG Esports (-195)
(-150) KT Rolster v Liiv Sandbox (+115)
(+210) JD Gaming v EDward Gaming (-285)
Sunday’s LPL and LCK is filled with tight games; LGD and Suning is likely to be an absolute blood bath, alongside KT Rolster vs Sandbox. T1 is favored versus DRX, and likewise for LNG and EDG vs IG and JGD respectively. There’s a lot of great picks to look out for on Sunday, and a lot of great games to be excited for.
Captain - Light ($11,100)
The captain spot on Sunday- and the entire slate as a whole, is the tale of two ADCs. Light is a fantastic ADC with a strong team, although he’s not necessarily the biggest factor in LNG’s outstanding success- that would be jungler Tarzan. However, he’s a great ADC and deserving of his spot on the squad. Meanwhile, Viper is the biggest factor in his team’s success, he plays against a weak bottom lane (both teams do, truthfully) and receives a massive share of his team’s resources. Between the two, Light is cheaper and I’d recommend him since JDG’s support in LvMao can occasionally show up well enough, where as IG’s entire bottom side looks lost.
Alternatives to consider: Viper ($11,400)
Top Lane - Ale ($6,000)
Top lane is a position where one candidate completely stomps out the rest; Ale has a good match-up versus neny, and is guaranteed to start, alongside being cheap. Ale showed up Xiaohu and Zoom- the two best top laners in the LPL previously, and is likely to repeat against the weaker IG top laner. The only other top laner in contention is Canna, who hasn’t looked outstanding this split, and isn’t even guaranteed the start since Zeus is also with T1.
Alternatives to consider: Canna ($6,800)
Jungle - Tarzan ($6,800)
If the jungler for LNG can keep his form up, he’s a firm contender for MVP of the LPL regular season. LNG was an upstart team with several weaknesses, but many strengths in Spring, and they’ve spent the off season shoring up their weaknesses. Already, they’ve conquered FPX and RNG; the two top teams in spring, and they look to be on the trajectory for greatness. Tarzan has led the team to greatness, what was once considered to be his retirement home is now a new El Dorado for his next success story after Griffin.
Alternatives to consider: Blank ($6,000)
Mid Lane - Dove ($7,000)
Compared to the mid laners on Sunday, I think you have three overall options; Dove is the most complete: he will start, has a good match-up against FATE, and a decent team. Xiye is a great player, and will start, but his team- particularly his top side- is uncertain. Faker is fantastic and has a solid team, but T1 may take the opportunity against DRX to try out Clozer. Icon is an alright player with a fantastic team, but a bad match-up against Yagao. For these reasons, I strongly recommend picking up Dove.
Alternatives to consider: Xiye ($6,200)
ADC - Viper ($7,600)
On Sunday, there are several great ADCs: Huanfeng and Kramer are locked in an uncertain match-up however, and it’s not immediately clear who will start between Teddy and Gumayusi- both players are usually solid, although this split has been uncertain for T1. Viper is the best overall ADC on Sunday, even more so than Light, and is severely underpriced. Pick up both Light and Viper, one as captain and one as an ADC- which is which is your decision.
Alternatives to consider: Light ($7,400)
Support - Iwandy ($5,600)
King of KDA of the supports, Iwandy’s propensity to pick safer, enchanter picks relative to engage awards him with high point yields courtesy of his low death frequency. LNG operates well with these picks, allowing Iwandy to buff up his team and control space in teamfights while using range to his advantage. The only other support I’d consider grabbing is Keria, but he costs a load: he’s guaranteed to start though, and has a great match-up against DRX.
Alternatives to consider: Keria ($6,200)
Team - T1 ($5,800)
I’m really going to lose my mind if T1 loses this one. DRX are dead last in standings, and T1 in theory should have at least a top 5 roster; this is what I consider to be the safest (at least in theory) prediction to make on Sunday; the only issue is we are not certain which roster T1 is running with; for a different choice, I strongly think EDG will stomp out JDG.
Alternatives to consider: EDward Gaming ($5,600)
Stacks
Iwandy & Light
Insanely high KDA bottom lane creates easy points. Iwandy is more enchanter inclined relative to other supports, which allows him to mitigate his deaths and keep a healthy amount of points coming in. Light is a teamfight-focused ADC that puts out serious damage once he links with his top side. The meta is solid for LNG, and these two are likely to continue performing.
Viper & Meiko
EDG’s bottom lane is one of the strongest in the league, and likely the overall best. Iwandy and Light are great, but unproven long term, whereas Meiko has been on top since 2015 and Viper has been a prodigy since his 2018 days on Griffin. EDG can make a strong showing on the worlds stage if they keep up their form.
Dove & Blank
The two players that have impressed me the most on KT; consider this a “value package”- although money is relatively plentiful on the day. Dove has turned out to be a solid mid laner and consistently puts up numbers game after game. Blank being good is surprising considering his track record as a jungler, although him and Dove do operate well together and appear to be a solid 2v2 for KT.
Top Picks: Light, Viper, Ale
Not going to lie, top lane prospects being Flandre, Zoom, and Ale are slim pickings on Sunday. Canna is fine, but there’s no guarantee that he’ll get the starting spot. Bin and Garvey are both uncertain, and everyone else is pretty much straight out bad. Viper and Light are the two big ADCs you want on your team, especially since both are up against underwhelming bottom lanes.
Top Value: Light, Dove, Tarzan
It’s insane how cheap a lot of the great players are on Sunday; Tarzan and Light are obvious, they’re the big winners of LNG alongside everyone aside from maybe Icon, and Dove is a serious performer on a mid-tier team.
