(-600) Bilibili Gaming v ThunderTalk (+375)
(+115) Team WE v LNG Esports (-150)
Tuesday’s LPL features a one sided blow-out between Bilibili Gaming and a very weak ThunderTalk, but Team WE versus LNG is sure to be an exciting, action packed blood bath between two fast paced teams. Bottom lanes are the name of the game throughout the day, with special eyes on Ale versus Breathe.
Captain
Tarzan ($10,200)
Money is definitely tight on Tuesday, but a position that will give you a big “bang for your buck” will be the junglers- while Beishang and Xiaopeng are highlights of their teams, their weaker laners frequently leave them vulnerable to enemy jungle aggression. LNG’s Tarzan is a strong jungler that revived LNG and has made them an upper tier team- furthermore, between Shanks and Mole, neither WE mid laner has the capability to attack Icon’s weak laning phase, allowing LNG to scale easily into their strong teamfight phase. The other option worth considering is Zeka, but I personally find him way too expensive to be worth it- I’d rather have Tarzan easily.
Alternatives to consider: Zeka ($11,400)
Top Lane
Ale ($6,400)
“The story of Ale” has been a fun side story to parallel LNG’s success. It’s been a while now that Ale has been described as having a high level of potential, and it’s exciting to see him finally reach that potential. A strong jungler like Tarzan has been what the top laner needs in order to unlock his talent- he’s one of the best in the league, especially since Flandre isn’t always the face of consistency on EDG. His opponent in Breathe is alright, but I wouldn’t consider him an especially strong top laner. Biubiu is fine too, but personally I’d save your spots for BLG.
Alternatives to consider: Biubiu ($6,600)
Jungle
Weiwei ($7,200)
With Tarzan as your captain, Weiwei is the other jungler worth grabbing on Tuesday. Xiaopeng is actually a decent jungler, as mentioned before; however, BLG’s players are much better across the board relative to ThunderTalk’s- they’re outmatched in every single lane. Furthermore, BLG play a slower, more Korean style relative to much of the rest of the LPL, which can limit Xiaopeng’s aggressive playstyle. Overall, I think BLG are a stylistically strong team against ThunderTalk, and that will disproportionately affect the jungle match-up.
Alternatives to consider: Tarzan ($6,800)
Mid Lane
Zeka ($7,600)
While Zeka isn’t the most remarkable Korean import in the entire LPL, he’s a decent, mid tier mid laner- luckily, though, all of TT’s mid laners are not good at all. Zeka, alongside having a more well defined mid-jungle 2v2, also holds a massive advantage in the support role in Ppgod vs Pudding. To keep it concise, Zeka doesn’t even need to be the better mid laner, even though he is, against whoever TT chooses to play. He has the perfect supporting cast behind him to give him all the help he needs, even if he was evenly matched.
Alternatives to consider: Icon ($7,000)
ADC
Aiming ($7,800)
Bilbili’s ace is their star Korean ADC, Aiming. Aiming was high tier in Korea when he left, despite being part of teams that were absolutely torn apart by poor management or a lack of talent around him. Bilibili isn’t terribly different- but his roster is at least filled with middle tier players, as opposed to bottom of the barrel players who can hardly hang in the league they play in. His opponent in SamD is absolutely horrendous, and the worst ADC in the LPL. Light is a secondary option, but Elk and Missing comprise a very strong bottom lane, so he may accrue a high number of deaths relative to normal.
Alternatives to consider: Light ($7,600)
Support
Iwandy ($5,800)
In spite of this though, I think LNG’s support is a solid pick-up instead of Ppgod. Iwandy is a flexible support player who generally favors enchanters disproportionately relative to the rest of the league, which is to his advantage in this case. Due to him favoring these ranged champions, he generally keeps his deaths low, and therefore, his points high. Ppgod is a fine support too, but by picking up Iwandy, you get a large KP share from LNG’s teamfights due to Iwandy’s ranged support playstyle.
Alternatives to consider: Ppgod ($5,600)
Team
LNG Esports ($4,800)
Team pick generally doesn’t matter much- I think LNG’s games will be very bloody since they’re playing against a high pace team like Team WE. The match will be close, but Team WE can struggle in later game teamfights, whereas it’s LNG’s strong point. BLG will solidly stomp down TT though, so if you have the cash, it could be worth the investment.
Alternatives to consider: Bilibili Gaming ($5,400)
Stacks
Ale & Tarzan
The top side for LNG is worth hitting hard on Tuesday against WE- Breathe and Beishang are solid players, but WE as a squad can be inconsistent, alongside some strange middle lane substitutions, allowing these two to take advantage of WE’s weakness.
Aiming & Zeka
The carries for BLG are definitely worth your time- ThunderTalk is an underpowered team with a decent jungler, but horrendous carries in SamD and TT’s 3 mid laners. Aiming in particular is a high tier ADC saddled with a mid tier squad, and he’s sure to farm TT’s bottom lane for big points.
Light & Iwandy
Like what we said before- Iwandy’s low death count is a great quality for a support to have, alongside Light’s amazing teamfighting makes this pair a solid bottom lane option for Tuesday. Missing and Elk are a good bottom lane, but their weaker laning phase can be exploited by Iwandy’s ranged, scaling support picks.
Top Picks: Ale, Zeka, Aiming
BLG + Ale, the carries of the squad are worth their weight in gold against a weak team like ThunderTalk, and Breathe is an exploitable piece of Team WE that’s likely to be the next step in The Story of Ale.
Top Value: Ale, Tarzan, Xiaopeng
LNG’s players come in cheap in what is likely to be a bloody game, so putting them in is a welcomed addition to the BLG core you’ll likely be running. Xiaopeng likely isn’t worth the money, but I do feel like he deserves a shoutout for being a decent jungler on an absolutely abysmal squad.
