Tuesday ushered in two upsets, one of which being a massive 2-0 win for Victory Five over Top Esports. TES (who many believed could be considered the best in the LPL) were handled by the struggling V5, which begs the question, “Who is the strongest team in the world right now?”. By all accounts, that team is playing Wednesday and that team in Gen.G. Gen.G is looking to close out the Summer Split with a win over BRO and it isn’t crazy to expect that they will. After this week both the LPL and the LCK will move into their playoff schedule and only the top teams will have a shot at winning their domestic crown. Who makes it? Who comes out on top? Let’s dive in and find out!

Fantasy Value Breakdown

Series #1: Gen.G v Fredit BRION

Series Breakdown: There are on.ly a few more series for Gen.G before they can wrap up their regular season crown for the LCK. On Wednesday they are playing the third worst team in the league, Fredit BRION. BRO have had streaks of decent play but we have seen another split where they couldn’t put it together. GEN will win this series off of skill alone. Ruler (LCK kill leader with 163 kills) will dominate the bottom lane with Lehends and this will allow Peanut to focus on the solo lanes. This series should be a runaway series and finding ways to slot as many players into your lineup may be the best idea possible.

Favorite Picks: Ruler (GEN: $12,000/$8,000), Peanut (GEN: $7,200), Lehends (GEN: $6,000), Gen.G ($5,800)

Value Picks: Lava (BRO: $6,000)

Cann’s Match Pick: Gen.G (2-0)

Series #2: T1 Esports v Liiv Sandbox

Series Breakdown: This is the sneaky upset pick for the slate. T1 only has a 10% higher win percentage over the underdog LSB. T1 has a really difficult time closing out a series and much of that stems from Gumayusi (4.7 KDA, 196 assists) not having the same level of play as he had in Spring. Oner and Zeus have to pull a lot of weight through the mid game and they fall short of getting Gumayusi into a position to carry the late game. LSB had an impressive win over DWG last week and Prince (158 Kills, 5.4 KDA) has lead his team in damage and kill participation. Watch out for T1 to slip up in the early game and LSB to steal at least one game in this series.

Favorite Picks: Gumayusi ($7,400), Zeus (T1: $6,000),

Value Picks: Prince (LSB: $9,600/$6,400), Croco (LSB: $5,800), Kael (LSB: $4,800)

Cann’s Match Pick: T1 Esports (2-1)

Series #3: Edward Gaming v Anyone’s Legend

Series Breakdown: The standings make this series appear closer than it really is. The drop off after EDG (starting with Weibo Gaming and then AL) is drastic and we see how top heavy the LPL actually is. EDG is coming in with the significantly better carry (Viper - 5th in the LPL in kills at 172) and the better team play that plays through their mid laner, Scout. EDG, when they are on their game, can swing with some of the top talent in the league. AL, on the other hand, is one of the LPL teams who have been so prone to lose early leads and drop series they shouldn’t. I don’t expect this series to be close if EDG are on their game.

Favorite Picks: Viper (EDG: $11,700/$7,800), Scout (EDG: $7,600), Edward Gaming ($5,400)

Value Picks: Zdz (AL: $5,600), Xiaohao (AL: $6,200)

Cann’s Match Pick: Edward Gaming (2-0)

Series #4: Invictus Gaming v Oh My God

Series Breakdown: There would be no shock from me if either of these two teams won on Wednesday. Even though IG is eliminated from playoff contention, they have every opportunity to close the door on OMG. OMG will continue to rely on the individual skill on shanji and Able, both very capable at carrying their team. It is another time where I note that IG will need XUN (jungler - 116 kills, 208 assists) to overproduce compared to his teammates. Due to the fact that there really isn’t another consistent and quality carry for this team, you have to pick OMG here but in a close series.

Favorite Picks: shanji (OMG: $6,200), Able (OMG: $7,200)

Value Picks: XUN (IG: $6,400), Mole (IG: $6,800), Invictus Gaming ($5,000)

Cann’s Match Pick: Oh My God (2-1)
