League of Legends LEC/LCS DFS Playbook September 4: Top DraftKings LoL DFS Picks
The final games before championship weekend, these two series will decide who challenges Rogue (LEC) and 100 Thieves (LCS) for their domestic title. In Europe, both the MAD Lions and Fnatic have held the domestic title and both have taken a step back this year. Major roster shifts and adapting of identity has led to this point. For Evil Geniuses and Team Liquid Sunday means even more. The winner of this match will lock up the final slot for North America at the World Championship. Two organizations who have every intention but only one will make the cut. Let’s dive into this crucial slate!
Series #1: MAD Lions (-130) v Fnatic (+100)
Series Breakdown: There is a lot of unwarranted faith in Fnatic after a commanding win over Misfits. What this more short sighted approach has led people to forget was the fact that they were dead to rights in the Excel Series and were all but done before pulling off the comeback. The MAD Lions were reversed swept by Rogue but there were so much shown by this team it feels like the beginning of their redemption story. Nisqy and Unf0rgiven provide so much security in the early game but don’t do that by sacrificing early game priority. This is important because of how pivotal Upset/Hylissang are to FNC’s win condition but have also struggled a lot at the end of this split. This matchup will have a lot of moving parts but ultimately be decided in the bottom lane.
Favorite Picks: Unf0rgiven (MAD: $11,400/$7,600), Armut (MAD: $6,400), Kaiser (MAD: $5,800)
Value Picks: Upset (FNC: $7,200), Razork (FNC: $6,400)
Cann’s Match Pick: MAD Lions (3-1)
Series #2: Evil Geniuses (-128) v Team Liquid (-104)
Series Breakdown: These two organizations could not be more different in their approach to building a team. Evil Geniuses have been overly selective with the veterans they use and vocal about how they lean heavily on young domestic talent. Team Liquid has upped their spending game with one of the most expensive rosters world-wide. It feels like this series is more of a reflection on which approach is best, not just which group of five players move on to championship weekend. Who is the better player? The one who has a decade worth of experience or the young confident player who is hungry to take that vet’s seat at the top? We find out on Sunday.
Favorite Picks: Danny (EG: $11,100/$7,400), Inspired (EG: $6,800)
Value Picks: Bjergsen (TL: $10,500/$7,000), Bwipo (TL: $6,000), Santorin (TL: $6,600), Team Liquid ($4,800)
