League of Legends European Championship & Championship Series

Upper bracket finals are taking over this Saturday and we have huge matchups in the West. In Europe, G2 is looking for an opportunity to defend their crown against a Rogue team who is trying to rewrite the narrative surrounding them. In North America, you have two mainstay orgs in 100 Thieves and Cloud9 battling for the shorter path to the finals. Neither team wants to navigate their way to the grand finals through Team Liquid or Evil Geniuses, so winning on Saturday is huge. With so much on the line, who comes out on top? Let’s dive in!

League of Legends DFS Playbook

Series #1: G2 Esports v Rogue

Series Breakdown: G2 and Rogue have been in this position so many times before it seems. You have two of the most successful teams in recent years but the narrative is that Rogue just cannot close the deal. Malrang in the jungle was a huge piece for the Rogue reverse sweep and beat the MAD Lions last weekend. He was aggressive in catching Elyoya out in rotations. He will need to do that against Jankos to help ensure the high octane solo laners in BrokenBlade and Caps don’t take over the game. I am also watching to see how the two young ADCs in Flakked and Comp play out this series. The ADC role has become even more important in the last few weeks of pro play and the young carries will need to step up to the plate.

Favorite Picks: Caps (G2: $11,100/$7,400), BrokenBlade (G2: $6,600), Targamas (G2: $6,000)

Value Picks: Malrang (RGE: $6,200), Rogue ($4,600)

Cann’s Match Pick: G2 Esports (3-2)

Series #2: Cloud9 v 100 Thieves

Series Breakdown: This is a wild series to peg down. Cloud9 came out and completely dismantled Evil Geniuses in their series last week. It is hard to determine whether this is more of a reflection of how poorly EG has been playing (especially Inspired and jojopyun) or how well players like Fudge and Berserker performed. This is placed side-by-side with how scary the end of the 100 Thieves versus Team Liquid series played out, and there could be an argument made for Cloud9 winning this series. Blaber needs to continue playing like his former MVP self or the likes of Closer will run away with this series. Watch for this jungle matchup and how much of an impact either of them can make on the early game.

Favorite Picks: Ssumday (100: $6,200), Jensen (C9: $7,000), 100 Thieves ($5,000)

Value Picks: Berserker (C9: $10,500/$7,000), Closer (100: $6,400),

Cann’s Match Pick: 100 Thieves (3-1)
