We are at the doorstep of the World Championship finals and we have the four best teams in the world fighting for the two spots next week. This slate has both five game series and will be packed with action. None of these teams are afraid of fighting and no deficit is too deep to keep victory away. We have the mainstays of Faker and Chovy, Ruler and Peanut; all fighting to maintain their dominance within the scene. They are being challenged by the new faces of Hope, Zeka, and Pyosik; young players who want to establish their own legend on the biggest stage. Who etches their legend into the halls of the greats? Who gets forgotten to the sands of time? Let’s dive in!

League of Legends DFS Breakdown

Series #1: JD Gaming v T1

Series Breakdown: This could arguably be seen as the World finals that could have been. Both of these teams could win against the other teams in the other semifinal and I think the winner here will end up winning next weekend. T1 has had a great tournament, especially for their legendary mid laner, Faker. They have won most of their matches by establishing early leads against their opponents. The problem with this approach against JDG is that they are never out of a game. Multiple times throughout this competitive year, JDG has been on the verge of defeat and they have fought their way to victories. Having the replacement at ADC (Hope) has proved to be the biggest influence in their change of play. They are aggressive around objectives and they move as one unit. This ability to play with an almost hive mind will be what sends them to the finals next weekend.

Favorite Picks: Hope (JDG: $11,700/$7,800), 369 (JDG: $6,000), Missing (JDG: $5,200), JD Gaming ($4,800)

Value Picks: Gumayusi (T1: $11,400/$7,600), Oner (T1: $6,600), Faker (T1: $7,000), Keria (T1: $4,800)

Cann’s Match Pick: JD Gaming (3-2)

Series #2: Gen.G v DRX

Series Breakdown: This series is the matchup of the haves versus the have-nots. The raw skill different here is too much for DRX to overcome, but their story has been a fun one to follow. DRX should have an advantage in the top half of the map with Kingen and Pyosik being stronger individually but in the late game fights, Gen.G’s Chovy and Ruler will take over the game. Chovy is the best player on the planet right now but he does stare across the rift at the player who will most likely be his replacement some day in Zeka. The young guns won’t be big enough on this day but they have a bright future ahead of them.

Favorite Picks: Chovy (GEN: $11,700/$7,800), Ruler (GEN: $8,000), Lehends (GEN: $5,400), Gen.G ($5,000)

Value Picks: Zeka (DRX: $11,100/$7,400), Kingen (DRX: $5,600), Pyosik (DRX: $6,200)

Cann’s Match Pick: Gen.G (3-1)
