League of Legends DFS Breakdown

Series #1: Fredit BRION vs. T1 Esports

Series Breakdown: Open and shut series here. There is no planet where T1 Esports should lose this series and in reality, there shouldn’t be too many “small victories” for BRO in this matchup. T1 have the advantage is absolutely every lane across the map and it isn’t really close. I even think the overly priced Keria (anything over $6,200 for a support is pretty steep) fits. Not much analysis needed here because the gap in quality is that much.

Favorite Picks: Gumayusi (T1: $11,400/$7,600), Zeus (T1: $6,800), Keria (T1: $6,200)

Value Picks: Hena (BRO: $6,000)

Cann’s Match Pick: T1 Esports (2-0)

Series #2: KT Rolster vs. NS RedForce

Series Breakdown: On paper these two lineups are relatively similar in quality. Ghost is a previous World Champion and NS also has Bdd in the mid-lane. KT Rolster is having huge production out of Aiming (109 kills, 115 assists) and have an aggressive top laner in Rascal who can create space for his team to put resources elsewhere on the map. In reality, only KT has seemingly the quality roster and NS have yet to get any consistency out of their players. Ghost has proven time and time again that he was not a factor in those dominant DK teams but instead just was able to stay out of Canyon and ShowMaker’s way. NS are fairly good at keeping things looking close (this is from just the individual skill of most of their players) but as the map state gets more and more messy; expect for NS to lose control of how the game plays out.

Favorite Picks: Aiming (KT: $11,700/$7,800), Rascal (KT: $6,600), KT Rolster ($5,400)

Value Picks: Dread (NS: $5,600), Bdd (NS: $6,200)

Cann’s Match Pick: KT Rolster (2-1)

Series #3: Team WE vs. Invictus Gaming

Series Breakdown: This series will be brutal to watch. IG may be a good team to dump some light cash into mediocre picks, allowing you to pick up huge dollar amount picks elsewhere. I have campaigned for IG’s jungler for a while though and I think he is a reasonable pick in this series. XUN (82 kills, 123 assists, and a 78% team kill participation rate. IG has to play through XUN and beishang (WE jungler) does not have the individual skill or coordination with his laners to put any pressure on XUN.

Favorite Picks: XUN (IG: $7,200), Ahn (IG: $7,200), Wink (IG: $5,600)

Value Picks: Shanks (WE: $6,600), FoFo (BLG: $6,400)

Cann’s Match Pick: Invictus Gaming (2-1)

Series #4: JD Gaming vs. Bilibili Gaming

Series Breakdown: By far the most lopsided matchup and oddly, seven months ago you would have thought it would have been BLG as the heavy favorites. BLG went from having both Doggo (minor region superstar who took players like Zven, Carzzy, and GALA to their limits) and Uzi (Chinese League of Legends hero who was the core member of the old RNG squads). Now BLG is working with Rise, a rookie who has had some impact against lower teams but hard to find against better teams. JDG swapped out their former top tier talent in Lpc for Hope and have found possibly the new face of the LPL. Between Hope’s individual skill and Kanavi’s understanding of where/when he needs to be at almost all time, this series will be a near impossible win for BLG.

Favorite Picks: Hope (JDG: $12,000/$8,000), Kanavi (JDG: $7,400), Missing (JDG: $6,000)

Value Picks: bin (BLG: $5,400)

Cann’s Match Pick: JD Gaming (2-0)

Series #5: Royal Never Give Up vs. Edward Gaming

Series Breakdown: Don’t be shocked if EDG flips this on it’s head on Saturday morning. They are not the most consistent team in the LPL but they play RNG hard and I think that RNG have a difficult time being the most clean from start to finish. Gala (124 kills, 115 assists, 5,8 KDA) but the raw outplay potential has to be more prevalent in EDG’s ADC, Viper (112 kill, 142 assists). This series will be close all the way through and because the two teams are relatively close, you can pick whichever team you feel more confident in and grab their players for cheap.

Favorite Picks: Xiaohu (RNG: $7,200), Gala (RNG: $7,400), Royal Never Give Up ($4,800)

Value Picks: Viper (EDG: $10,500/$7,000), Flandre (EDG: $6,000), Meiko (EDG: $5,200)

Cann’s Match Pick: Royal Never Give Up (2-1)
