League of Legends DFS Playbook: LPL July 5
The LPL gave us some real fireworks on Monday with two major upsets with both ThunderTalk and Oh My God beating the heavy favorites. The best three format in the LPL has allowed for some explosive performances and the possibility for explosive performances out of players. We called a few players out in our breakdown yesterday, (shanji, Beichuan, and cold specifically) so remember to not get too stuck with which teams you think will win. Sometimes splashing in players you think will have high performances can translate to huge score lines for your lineups. We have some strong favorites and budget gems to look out for on Tuesday, let’s dive in!

League of Legends DFS Fantasy Breakdown
Series #1: Invictus Gaming v LNG Esports
Series Breakdown: Monday’s slate felt far more open and shut in terms of betting favorites and we saw two upsets. Tuesday feels like the games could be much closer. The IG record (1-5) is not as indicative of how close they have played some good teams (6-10 in actual games played). Their jungler (XUN) has been a bright spot for the team with 54 kills (most on team) and a 77% team kill participation rate. He will need to work hard to try and offset the power that LNG has in their bottom lane in Light. Light (ADC) has been one of the highest performing players in his role for the past two years. This year he has taken a little more of a back seat compared to years past. Light has found ways to transition into the late game with fewer resources given to him by his teammates and that makes him more dangerous. Opposing teams now need to worry about other players which gives more space to Light.
Favorite Picks: Light (LNG: $11,700/$7,800), Ale (LNG: $6,600), LNG ESports ($5,200)
Value Picks: Xun (IG: $6,400), XinLiu (IG: $4,800)
Cann’s Match Pick: LNG Esports (2-0)
Series #2: Weibo Gaming v Anyone’s Legend
Series Breakdown: I had circled this game as a possible upset last week when I was outlining the upcoming games for the LPL. Anyone’s Legend has quietly put together some good finishes and keep matches close against good teams. The solo lanes of the underdog here (Forge - mid and Zdz - top) have put themselves in discussions as some of the more impactful players in their role. In the LPL it is difficult to get more buzz around newer players because there is so much established talent in the region. They also have the disadvantage going up against one of the toughest bottom lanes in huanfeng/ON. These two just do not make mistakes in lane and capitalize so well when SofM makes his way to their lane. Sometimes it isn’t about the frequency of the jungle pressure but how the laners can capitalize on the pressure they have been given. There aren’t many duos who can take small advantages and roll them into lane leads quite like them.
Favorite Picks: huanfeng ($11,100/$7,400), ON (WBG: $5,600), Weibo Gaming ($5,000)
Value Picks: Forge (AL: $6,800), Zdz (AL: $6,000), Xiaohao (AL: $6,600)
Cann’s Match Pick: Weibo Gaming (2-1)
