Four more matches stand between us and the crowning of an LPL champion. Thursday gives us the loser’s bracket match between two teams who are flying at a level that most had expected from them but they had failed to show throughout most of 2022 season. For JDG and TES, the winner gets to punch their ticket to the finals while the other must win an additional series to make it there. So who makes it to this weekend’s final? Let’s dive in and find out!

League of Legends DFS Fantasy Breakdown

Series #1: Edward Gaming v LNG Esports

Series Breakdown: I think the 0-3 loss to JDG isn’t a massive indictment on them as a team but I think the fact that EDG took TOP the full series is a huge boost for them. I am looking out for EDG to make a serious run through the lower bracket and challenge for the title. Viper (ADC) has shown himself to be a remarkable carry during these playoffs and you could say if it weren’t for a few mistakes in that TES series, he could have gotten EDG into the upper bracket match. EDG need to make sure they keep the resources flowing towards Hope in the bottom lane because LNG’s Light can take over a game if he gets the advantage in the laning phase. LNG really were worked over in the top lane (Ale) and jungle (Tarzan) against JDG, leaving the bottom lane as their best win condition on Thursday.

Favorite Picks: Viper (EDG: $11,400/$7,600), Flandre (EDG: $6,600), LvMao (EDG: $5,200), Edward Gaming ($5,400)

Value Picks: Doinb (LNG: $6,800), Light (LNG: $7,000)

Cann’s Match Pick: Edward Gaming (3-1)

Series #2: TOP Esports v JD Gaming

Series Breakdown: This should be an excellent series to watch. In the regular season, JDG took the series 2-1 and looked really good in their wins. That being said, Knight (TES mid laner) has to be one of the most influential mid laners in the LPL. He is always present in team fights and almost always wins lane. He will have his hands full with Yagao (and his entire pool of play making champions) and it will almost be determined what version of Tian we see. Tian struggled in the first half of the EDG series but carried TES in game five to secure the win. If Kanavi can close the door on Tian, I think my upset prediction will come true.

Favorite Picks: Tian (TES: $6,800)

Value Picks: Hope (JDG: $10,200/$6,800), 369 (JDG: $6,000), Kanavi (JDG: $6,600)

Cann’s Match Pick: JD Gaming (3-2)
