Four teams have punched their ticket to postseason play in the LCS. Evil Geniuses, 100 Thieves, Counter Logic Gaming, and Team Liquid have secured a spot in the playoffs with Cloud9 and Flyquest all but locked in with four games to go. There are two highlighted matches for Sunday including the Evil Geniuses squaring off against Team Liquid. Since their loss to Team Liquid in the early round of the LCS Spring Playoffs, Evil Geniuses have been steam rolling most of the league including the North American super team. 100 Thieves continue to surge and put pressure on the first seed Evil Geniuses but they will need to get through Cloud9 to continue their present winning streak. Golden Guardians and Team Solomid are holding onto the smallest leads at the bottom of the table and currently would make the LCS playoffs

Game #1: Team Solomid (-157) v Dignitas (+120)

Game Breakdown: A battle at the bottom of the table. Probably the same feeling with the Premier League, the bottom teams have a lot to play for because of the extended playoffs in the LCS. Looking at the matchup, it is hard not to favor Team Solomid but Dignitas did pick up a win against Immortals on Saturday. Team Solomid will need to rely on their jungler (Spica, tied for third most kills among junglers at 31) to create a lot of early pressure. He may be the biggest playmaker on Team Solomid and has been their consistent thus far. Dignitas has been swapping in a lot of new pieces (eXyu, Spawn, Hoon) with limited success. I think the organization has been too noncommittal to fostering growth and we have seen the quality of team play fall because of it.

Favorite Picks: Spica (TSM: $7,200), Instinct (TSM: $7,800)

Value Picks: Blue ($5,800), Dignitas ($4,000)

Cann’s Match Pick: Team Solomid

Game #2: Cloud9 (-109) v 100 Thieves (-121)

Game Breakdown: After a loss to Counter Logic Gaming on Saturday (a match most analysts expected to go the other way), Cloud9 will be coming into Sunday’s match with a lot of focus playing against 100 Thieves. 100 Thieves sent Cloud9 to the loser’s bracket in the Spring Playoffs and that series loss is really what led to some of the sweeping changes for this squad. 100 Thieves are on a roll, rattling off 6 straight wins including one over first place Evil Geniuses. This surge for 100 Thieves has to be credited to their mid laner (Abbedagge - 5.6 KDA, highest team kill participation rate of 70%) who has gone from a liability to one of the strongest performers. How C9 wins today will come from limiting Abbedagge’s impact and keeping him in the mid lane as much as possible. Jensen *30 kills, 26% team kill share percentage) will need to be on a champion with either a lot of pushing power or an assassin who can exploit some of Abbedagge’s mistakes in lane.

Favorite Picks: Abbedagge (100: $10,500/$7,000), Closer (100: $6,800), Ssumday (100: $6,600)

Value Picks: Fudge (C9: $6,200), Berserker (C9: $6,600), Zven (C9: $4,800)

Cann’s Match Pick: Cloud9

Game #3: Evil Geniuses (-155) v Team Liquid (+120)

Game Breakdown: The Team Liquid fan inside of me is praying for an upset, but there really isn’t a reason to expect one. Evil Geniuses are winning games they play both well and poorly in. They can close out games they have huge leads in and steal wins when they are on the doorstep of losing. EG’s ADC (Danny - leads the LCS in kills at 64) is having an exponentially better season as compared to TL’s Hans sama (4.2 KDA and 22% team kill percentage). In fact, if the solo lanes of Bjergsen and Bwipo cannot find leads in lane, this game will get out of hand quickly with the combined late game power of Danny and the macro play out of EG’s jungler (Inspired).

Favorite Picks: Danny (EG: $12,000/$8,000), Inspired (EG: $11,100/$7,400), Vulcan (EG: $6,000)

Value Picks: Bjergsen (TL: $9,000/$6,000), Bwipo (TL: $5,400), Team Liquid ($3,800)

Cann’s Match Pick: Evil Geniuses

Game #4: Immortals (+119) v Golden Guardians (-154)

Game Breakdown: Another “important” match at the bottom of the table but not one I would spend any real cap space on. If you are picking a captain from these two teams you really need to make sure it is a player who limits their own death totals (like a PowerOfEvil). GG should be the winners of this matchup, seeing as they have the better roster with more veteran experience, but their inability to get enough players being consistent from game to game holds them back. The top lane battle between Licorice and Revenge (both coming into the matchup with 28 kills) should be entertaining. Both top laners will play the aggressive champion with the hope of creating advantages in the side lane.

Favorite Picks: Licorice (GG: $6,400), River (GG: $7,000), Stixxay (GG: $7,400), Olleh (GG: $5,600)

Value Picks: Revenge (IMT: $5,600), PowerOfEvil (IMT: $6,200)

Cann’s Match Pick: Golden Guardians

Game #5: FlyQuest (-115) v Counter Logic Gaming (-115)

Game Breakdown: Even with a pretty solid performance in their win over Cloud9 on Saturday, CLG seems to still not be getting the respect they deserve against a FlyQuest team who was completely dismantled against TL on the same slate. When the top half of the map for FlyQuest goes sideways and underperforms, you can see the pressure it causes the duo of Johnsun and Aphromoo. I think if you were to compare the solo lanes for CLG (Dhokla/Palafox) against those of FlyQuest (Philip/toucouille), the CLG pair would be picked more often than not over the FLY pair. Of all the matches on the slate, I could see this being one of the bloodier matches, meaning picking up a few pieces here at a great price may be a great way to steal a lobby.

Favorite Picks: Johnsun (FLY: $10,800/$7,200), Aphromoo (FLY: $4,600)

Value Picks: Luger (CLG: $10,500/$7,000), Dhokla (CLG: $5,800), Palafox (CLG: $6,400)

Cann’s Match Pick: Counter Logic Gaming
