PrizePicks Prop Selections

Lucaozy (Sharks) - Over 41.0 Kills vs. Havan Liberty (Maps 1-2)

Sharks are in second place in the South American RMR standings, so this is a must-win series for them, but Havan Liberty is a solid team that is not far behind. I am expecting a tight series here, though I do favor Sharks to come out on top, and the odds agree with Sharks moneyline sitting at (-200) odds. They are able to consistently rely on Lucaozy to have strong performances, especially against tough opponents. Back in June, Lucaozy went on a stretch of having 11 maps in a row with a Rating greater than one, and he did it against Endpoint, EXTREMUM, Young Ninjas, Iberian Family and Nordavind, which makes it even more impressive.

We cannot be certain of the map pool during the playoffs since teams may look to switch things up, but Vertigo and Inferno would make the most sense to me as the first two maps played. Once again, consistency is the theme for Lucaozy with these maps. In the past three months, Lucaozy has a 1.17 Rating with 0.76 kills per round across 40 maps played. On Inferno, his stats are nearly identical during that time with a 1.17 Rating and 0.77 kills per round across nine maps played. Vertigo is a very similar story with a 1.17 Rating and 0.73 kills per round across eight maps played during that time. Lucaozy has had at least 23 kills on Inferno six of the last eight times played, and he has averaged 24.5 kills on Vertigo in his past four wins on that map. PrizePicks usually sets a kill total with a half point projection like 40.5 or 41.5, so it is somewhat interesting to see 41.0 kills as Lucaozy’s projection. Even at a projection of 41.5 kills, I would still see upside on the over here. This should be a competitive series, and Lucaozy should perform well win or lose, though I do expect Sharks to win.

Chelo (MIBR) - Over 38.5 Kills vs. KG Network (Maps 1-2)

MIBR is a massive favorite in this spot with (-4550) moneyline odds against KG Network, so this could be a quick sweep, but I still see upside on the over. MIBR are in first place for the South American RMR standings, and they need to win on Friday to secure more RMR points because only one team from South America is guaranteed a spot at the PGL Major Stockholm. MIBR has been losing a majority of their maps in recent months, so chelo has seen his stats decline during that time, but he still leads his team with a 1.12 Rating and 0.73 kills per round in 2021. A one-sided series might not sound favorable for the over, but if there is one player on MIBR that is going to pad his stats in this spot, it would be chelo. MIBR dominated Havan Liberty 16-7 in their most recent map played, and chelo had 25 kills in 23 rounds, meanwhile nobody else on the server even had 20. We saw a ‘floor’ performance from Chelo in a similar spot against Keyd back in July where Chelo only had 16 kills in an easy 16-3 win, but he was still at the top of his team, and the floor seems to be really high for Chelo even if MIBR roll against KG Network.

Once again, I am not putting too much weight into the map pool during playoffs, but I expect to see Mirage picked by MIBR because it is their most played map with this roster. Mirage has been an excellent map for chelo, and he has a 1.16 Rating with 0.75 kills per round across 21 maps played on Mirage in 2021. There is a chance that KG Network decide to pick Ancient, and this would not be a concern for chelo. He has a 1.16 Rating with 0.78 kills per round across seven maps played on Ancient so far, and he had 16, 26, 20, and 24 kills his last four times on that map, with the 16 kills coming from the 16-3 victory against Keyd mentioned above. The rest of the map pool still looks really solid for chelo if the map picks do go differently. 38.5 Kills is just too low of a projection for chelo. I know that we could easily see MIBR win 16-4 on the first map and 16-3 on the second map or something like that, but Chelo has a chance of hitting the over even in an extremely one-sided series, and if KG Network do manage to win just a few more rounds, then there should be tremendous upside on the over.
