H2H Data:
- These rosters faced last month on LAN at PGL Major Antwerp 2022 and FURIA won 2-1 (16-12 Vertigo / 14-16 Inferno / 16-11 Ancient). KSCERATO led the server with 63 kills and a 1.16 Rating.
Map Projections:
FURIA removes Dust2
G2 removes Overpass
FURIA picks Vertigo
G2 picks Inferno
FURIA removes Nuke
G2 removes Ancient
Mirage is left over
Prediction/Narrative: G2 wins 2-1.
These teams played last month, and the series was very competitive with all three maps going over 26.5 rounds. I think that G2 messed up the map veto last time banning Mirage instead of Ancient, and it came back to bite them when they only managed to win one single T round on that map. I’m expecting another close series regardless, but a change in the map veto could certainly help the G2 side. G2 are a legitimate contender to win this event. The are tied with FaZe & ENCE as the third highest-rated team with a 1.10 Team Rating across eight maps played, and NiKo is back to elite form as the fifth highest-rated player with a 1.24 Rating. G2 are undefeated on Inferno in the past three months with a 6-0 W/L record, and they should still have an advantage against the Brazilians on that map despite the fact that it used to be one of FURIA’s favorite maps. The only map that G2 don’t have a win rate of at least 50% on during that time is Ancient (and their permaban, Overpass), so a change in the decider map could be crucial. G2 have been the better team at this event, and I think they will bring a strong performance in front of the Dallas crowd. Still, we saw what FURIA are capable of last time, and the Brazilians could easily make this a tight series once again.
- On Vertigo, m0NESY leads G2 with a 1.24 Rating and 1.31 K/D ratio across seven maps played in the past three months.
- On Inferno, NiKo leads G2 with a 1.46 Rating and 1.63 K/D ratio across six maps played in the past three months.
- On Mirage, m0NESY leads G2 with a 1.14 Rating and 1.27 K/D ratio across four maps played in the past three months.
- m0NESY leads G2 with a 1.31 K/D ratio across eight maps played at this event.
- NiKo & m0NESY lead G2 with 0.14 opening kills per round across eight maps played at this event.
