Prediction/Narrative: SINNERS win 2-0.

SINNERS would have been one of the favorites to win this event coming in, but they are playing with their coach, Tomkeejs, since NEOFRAG transferred to OG. Still, they haven’t looked bad with their coach standing in, and they have a 7-7 W/L record across 14 maps played with this lineup. They’ve taken down Sampi, Budapest Five, eSuba, and they won a map against ex-MAD Lions, so Tomkeejs has not been as big of a detriment to their team as you may have expected considering they lost their star rifler. SINNERS have a 1.00 Team Rating at this event compared to 0.90 for KOVA. I still put SINNERS on a tier above KOVA even with Tomkeejs in the lineup, and KOVA have not proven to me that they can compete with teams of this caliber. KOVA have a 22-22 W/L record across 44 maps played in the past three months, and Nuke is their most played map. We’ve already seen SINNERS pick up a win on Nuke with Tomkeejs, and I’d give SINNERS the advantage on that map, especially starting on the more favorable CT side. SINNERS are the better team, and forsyy & SHOCK should be the best players on the server, so I think a sweep is fairly likely here.

Prediction/Narrative: BLUEJAYS win 2-1.

BLUEJAYS have been on fire. They’ve won their last six series played, and they have a 27-9 W/L record across 36 maps played in the past three months. Apeks have also been playing well with a 36-25 W/L record across 61 maps played in the past three months, and they have played some tougher opponents than BLUEJAYS, but it still remains true that BLUEJAYS have been dominant. BLUEJAYS have a win rate of at least 72.7% on Mirage, Dust2, Inferno, and Overpass in the past three months, but Apeks can only say the same about Inferno. Mirage is BLUEJAYS’ most played map, and Apeks have lost four of their last five on Mirage, so it could be a good pick for them in this spot. These are two solid lower tier teams, and the map pool looks strong for the underdog, so I do like taking the discount on BLUEJAYS here. I expect this series to go three maps and it should be pretty tight throughout. This is a winnable match-up for BLUEJAYS.
