Map Projections:

Movistar Riders removes Dust2

Astralis removes Mirage

Movistar Riders picks Inferno

Astralis picks Ancient

Movistar Riders removes Overpass

Astralis removes Vertigo

Nuke is left over

Prediction/Narrative: Movistar Riders win 2-1.

Both of these teams have been in pretty good form recently. Astralis just qualified for the upcoming Major, and Farlig appears to be getting more comfortable in the lineup with each map played. With Farlig in the lineup, Astralis now have a 17-13 W/L record across 30 maps. The Danes have been solid on Nuke (5-1 W/L record), Ancient (6-2 W/L record), and Overpass (3-1 W/L record), though the rest of their map pool has been questionable. As for Movistar Riders, they were unable to qualify for the Major, but they are coming off of a perfect 5-0 group stage at ESL Pro League Season 15, and they are up to number 12 in the world rankings. Movistar Riders have a 24-17 W/L record across 41 maps played in the past three months. They have been great on Inferno (7-2 W/L record), Mirage (5-2 W/L record), and Ancient (3-2 W/L record), and they have had mixed results on their most played map, Nuke (6-5 W/L record). I think these teams are pretty evenly matched, and I do think Movistar Riders are a live underdog with this series being online. I expect Movistar Riders to at least win a map, likely Inferno, which used to be a good map for Astralis, but the Danes are 0-2 on that map with this lineup. If Nuke ends up as the decider, Astralis have the edge on paper, but it is the Spaniards’ most played map, so I do think it could go either way. Overall, I prefer to take a shot on Movistar Riders here given the odds/Draftkings pricing.

  • On Inferno, SunPayus leads MR with a 1.16 Rating and 1.35 K/D ratio across nine maps played in the past three months.
  • On Ancient, mopoz leads MR with a 1.17 Rating, while SunPayus leads with a 1.25 K/D ratio across five maps played in the past three months.
  • On Nuke, SunPayus leads MR with a 1.24 Rating and 1.34 K/D ratio across 11 maps played in the past three months.
  • Mopoz leads Movistar Riders with 26.3% opening duel attempts across 41 maps played in the past three months.

Map Total: Over 2.5 (+150) | Under 2.5 (-185)

  • Ninjas in Pyjamas - Rating past three months: REZ 1.15 | Brollan 1.11 | hampus 1.05 | Plopski 1.02 | es3tag  0.96

  • Bad News Eagles - Rating past three months: juanflatroo 1.14 | rigoN 1.11 | sinnopsyy 1.10 | -gxx 1.10 | SENER1 1.03

H2H Data:

  • These rosters faced in a best-of-one on Ancient last week at the RMR and NiP won 16-11. REZ led the server with 33 kills, 116 ADR, a 1.97 Rating, and an ace. Sinnopsyy is the only member of BNE to finish with a positive K/D ratio.

Map Projections:

Bad News Eagles removes Overpass

Ninjas in Pyjamas removes Dust2

Bad News Eagles picks Mirage

Ninjas in Pyjamas picks Ancient

Bad News Eagles removes Nuke

Ninjas in Pyjamas removes Vertigo

Inferno is left over

Prediction/Narrative: NiP wins 2-1.

These teams just faced last week, and it was a fairly close map. NiP started on the CT side of Ancient and got off to a dominant start, but BNE managed to pull things back in the second half for a 16-11 final score in the favor of NiP. Ninjas in Pyjamas have been excellent with Brollan in the lineup with a 6-3 W/L record across nine maps played, including qualifying for a Legends spot at the upcoming Major. Bad News Eagles have been hot too with a 21-9 W/L record across 30 maps played in the past three months, and they also earned a spot at the Major, though it was not a Legends spot. Still, both teams are playing well at the moment. I expect some growing pains from NiP with Brollan still being new to the lineup and es3tag switching to the AWP role considering they have played less than 10 maps. Additionally, NiP haven’t even played Mirage with this lineup yet and I think it would make sense for BNE to test them on it here. Bad News Eagles have a 4-2 W/L record with a 76.9% 5v4 conversion rate and 31.2% 4v5 conversion rate in the past three months. Ultimately, I expect NiP to win this series as they are the superior team, but BNE are capable of winning a map and at least sending this series to a third map.

  • On Mirage, this NiP lineup has not played an official match yet. Prior to adding Brollan, REZ led NiP with a 1.15 Rating and 1.19 K/D ratio across 10 maps played in the past three months.
  • On Ancient, REZ leads this NiP lineup with a 1.56 Rating and 1.92 K/D ratio across two maps played.
  • On Inferno, REZ leads this NiP lineup with a 1.50 Rating, while hampus leads with a 1.75 K/D ratio across one map played.
  • Hampus leads this NiP lineup with 23.7% opening duel attempts across nine maps played in the past three months.

FURIA (World rank: #8) vs. ATK (World rank: #58) - 4:30 P.M. ET

Moneyline Odds: FURIA (-2925) | ATK (+1515)

Map Handicap: FURIA -1.5 (-460) | ATK +1.5 (+345)

Map Total: Over 2.5 (+380) | Under 2.5 (-515)

H2H Data:

  • These rosters have never faced each other.

Map Projections:

ATK removes Nuke

FURIA removes Dust2

ATK picks Overpass

FURIA picks Mirage

ATK removes Vertigo

FURIA removes Ancient

Inferno is left over

Prediction/Narrative: FURIA wins 2-0.

The biggest storyline here is that Sharks were originally set to face FURIA in a Brazilian derby, but they faced travel complications, and ATK are substituting in. As such, FURIA are massive favorites at (-2925) moneyline odds. FURIA has been in great form with a 24-17 W/L record across 41 maps played since adding saffee. They just earned the only Legends spot in the upcoming Major for their region, and they also recently made a playoff run at ESL Pro League Season 15. There seems to be no reason to fade FURIA in this spot. ATK have a 9-8 W/L record across 17 maps played with their lineup, and they are coming off of losses against Carpe Diem & GODSENT, who are both inferior compared to FURIA. ATK did manage to sweep TeamOne earlier in the month so they do have some experience against Brazilian teams, but I can’t see them getting past FURIA in any capacity. ATK may consider picking Overpass, Inferno, Mirage or event Ancient, but I’d consider the Brazilians to be huge favorites on any map in the pool.

  • On Overpass, yuurih leads FURIA with a 1.24 Rating and 1.32 K/D ratio across four maps played in the past three months.
  • On Mirage, arT leads FURIA with a 1.10 Rating, while KSCERATO & saffee lead with a 1.09 K/D ratio across 10 maps played in the past three months.
  • arT leads FURIA with 35.4% opening duel attempts across 41 maps played in the past three months.
