This is a best-of-three on LAN for the quarter-finals of Flow FiReLEAGUE 2022 Global Finals.

MASONIC - Rating past three months: j3nsyy 1.16 | Buzz 1.15 | Anlelele 1.03 | Tauson notaN 0.98

H2H Data:

These rosters have never faced each other.

Prediction: MASONIC wins 2-1.

The stats would indicate that paiN are the superior team, but I think the context is important here. PaiN have a 21-9 W/L record across 30 maps played with this lineup (70% win rate), which is certainly impressive. However, paiN have yet to face a European opponent, and a majority of their success has come in the NA/SA region, which is generally much weaker than the EU & CIS regions. Meanwhile, MASONIC have a 32-23 W/L record across 50 maps played with their lineup (58% win rate), which is respectable given the caliber of teams they have faced in the tier two EU scene. Since the start of September, MASONIC have beaten Bad News Eagles, SAW, SKADE X, SINNERS, Finest, Lilmix, HAVU, & Bluejays, so they are constantly being tested against solid squads. MASONIC should be able to pick up a win on Inferno, where they have a 12-4 W/L record with this lineup. The rest of the map pool would appear to favor paiN on paper, but I am buying into the EU > NA narrative, and I think MASONIC are underrated for that reason. I see this as a winnable match-up for MASONIC, and I’m happy to take them on DK at a discount, though I do think this could be a close series. J3nsyy should offer a nice floor and ceiling with the AWP, while Buzz is a risky play in this spot as he may struggle to find entry kills against a strong opponent.

  • In the past three months, j3nsyy leads MASONIC with a 1.19 K/D ratio across 55 maps played.
  • j3nsyy Buzz lead MASONIC with 0.12 opening kills per round, while Buzz leads with 24.3% opening duel attempts during that time.

Imperial (World rank: #20) vs. Isurus (World rank: #47) - 2:00 P.M. ET

Moneyline Odds: Imperial (-525) | Isurus (+380)

Map Handicap: Imperial -1.5 (-150) | Isurus +1.5 (+125)

This is a best-of-three on LAN for the quarter-finals of Flow FiReLEAGUE 2022 Global Finals.

Isurus - Rating at event: N/A

Isurus - Rating past three months: meyern 1.10 | Noktse 1.08 | deco 1.08 | luchov 1.05 | reversive 0.92

H2H Data:

These rosters faced earlier this month at the IEM Road to Rio 2022 Americas RMR and Imperial won 16-2 on Overpass. FalleN led with 21 kills, while Fer led with a 2.02 Rating.

Prediction: Imperial wins 2-0.

We saw these teams face off on LAN just over a week ago and Imperial destroyed Isurus. However, Imperial did have the luxury of starting CT Overpass in a best-of-one. Plus, that event was a qualifier for the upcoming Major in Brazil, and the legendary Brazilian players on Imperial were hyperfocused on qualifying for the historic tournament. You could argue that Isurus have a better chance this time around with less on the line for Imperial, however, you could also argue that there is less pressure on Imperial now, so you can spin the narrative however you want. Either way, I think Imperial are the clear better team and I do expect a sweep here. Imperial have a 15-7 W/L record across 22 maps played (68% win rate),, and their map pool is deep with Overpass (6-1 W/L), Inferno (4-2 W/L), Nuke (2-2 W/L), Mirage (1-0 W/L), and Vertigo (1-0 W/L) all looking like strong options. Isurus have a 32-25 W/L record across 57 maps played with their lineup (56% win rate), and they have never beaten a team of Imperial’s caliber. I think Isurus can win a few more rounds than they did last time against Imperial, but ultimately, Imperial should be able to outclass them once again. A three stack of Imperial players is my favorite stack on Draftkings for Friday. FalleN & chelo have been leading the team in opening duels and they should be in a position to farm here, but fer is another player to look out for as his form has improved in recent weeks.

  • In the past three months, FalleN leads Imperial with a 1.35 K/D ratio across 22 maps played.
  • FalleN & chelo lead Imperial with 0.13 opening kills per round, while chelo leads with 23.4% opening duel attempts during that time.
