H2H Data:

These rosters have never faced each other.

Prediction/Narrative: PROSPECTS win 2-1.

The old MASONIC roster certainly would have been a favorite against PROSPECTS, but I’m not so sure about this new lineup. Cabbi, Queenix, and kraghen all left MASONIC to sign with ECSTATIC earlier this month, which means just J3nsyy & notaN remain from the old roster. We’ve only seen MASONIC play a single map with Buzz, Tauson, and Anlelele in the lineup, which was a 12-16 loss to Astralis on Inferno on Tuesday. MASONIC are likely happy with taking 12 rounds from a top five team, but I wasn’t overly impressed with how they looked, and I think the close result speaks more to the nature of Inferno than anything else. As for PROSPECTS, they announced their roster in July in time for WePlay Academy League Season 5. The team managed a 5-7 W/L record across 12 maps played at the event with wins against MOUZ NXT, NAVI Junior, Fnatic Rising, Eternal Fire Academy, and Astralis Talent. Prior to that, the trio of hype, FRANSSON, and bobeksde played together as members of Lilmix. We have limited data on both of these teams, but I think the talent level is pretty equal on both sides, and I like backing PROSPECTS as an underdog. PROSPECTS have had a bit more time playing together and I think they showed flashes of excellence at WePlay Academy League Season 5. Plus, I don’t want to overreact to MASONIC’s close result from Tuesday against Astralis, and I don’t understand why they are such heavy favorites in this spot given the amount of question marks surrounding them. We’ve seen PROSPECTS pick up wins on Inferno, Overpass, and Mirage, and I have confidence that they can at least keep things competitive in a best-of-three format.

  • hype leads PROSPECTS with a 1.05 Rating and 1.07 K/D Ratio across 12 maps played.
  • spooke & hype lead PROSPECTS with 0.11 opening kills per round, while spooke leads with 24.6% opening duel attempts.

ECLOT (World rank: #66) vs. SKADE X (World rank: Unranked) – 8:00 A.M. ET

Moneyline Odds: ECLOT (-225) | SKADE X (+180)

Map Handicap: ECLOT -1.5 (+135) | SKADE X +1.5 (-170)

Prediction/Narrative: ECLOT wins 2-1.

What in the world is going on with these rosters? Twist (as in twist from Entropiq Prague, not the former NiP player also named twist) is listed as playing for K1-FiDa on the side of ECLOT, though I haven’t seen a formal announcement from the team. K1-FiDa is the IGL for ECLOT, so it seems to be a significant loss for them especially since twist is only carrying a 0.94 Rating in the past three months. Meanwhile, SKADE X just announced their new Norwegian roster earlier this month, but now grux is listed as playing for Jimbo on the side of SKADE X. Again, I haven’t seen a formal announcement at this point, but Jimbo is the IGL, so it would be a significant loss for them as well, though grux seems to be a slightly more serviceable “stand-in” with a 1.03 Rating in 2022. Perhaps we will get more info before the slate locks, but at this point I would just try to avoid the question marks at this point if possible (twist, K1-FiDa, grux, and Jimbo). With all of that being said, I tend to lean towards ECLOT here given the fact that at least four of their members have been playing together in this team for a while now. Beyond that, they have found success with a 26-21 W/L record across 47 maps played in the past three months. SKADE X are a brand new roster so we really don’t know what to expect from them right now, and I’d rather ride with the team that has proven themselves recently against this level of competition with map wins against Bad News Eagles, Apeks, and BIG Academy in the month of July.

  • Dytor leads ECLOT in the past three months with a 1.16 Rating, while capseN leads with a 1.13 K/D ratio across 47 maps played.
  • Dytor leads ECLOT with 0.14 opening kills per round and 25.2% opening duel attempts during that time.
