The top six sides are mostly absent from Saturday’s EPL DFS slate, though Arsenal is in FanDuel’s main slate. That leaves us with a lot of interesting, potentially evenly matched games. When that is the case, paying up for goalkeepers is almost never a good idea. That is certainly the case with this slate.

The other thing that several of these teams have in common is that they are getting a good matchup after facing two bigger teams the first two weeks. That means that plenty of players with modest returns thus far could be in line for a fantasy breakout. I almost always build my lineups from the bottom up, in terms of price, but I don’t think you need to with this slate. If you identify the top-tier options you like, especially at defense, feel free to plug those players in your lineup and build around them. There is a lot of value on this slate.

Goalkeepers

Dean HendersonNFOEVE440015822.50
I'm not reading a ton into the first two weeks of the season but Henderson is averaging 4.6 more DK fantasy points than any other keeper on the slate and Everton is 18th out of 20 teams in fantasy points allowed to goalkeepers. More importantly, I think there is a pretty good chance Nottingham Forest is just better than Everton. Everton is at home and that counts for something but Henderson is too cheap.
Aaron RamsdaleARSBOU  1414.00
I don't really trust any of the favorites in the early games, so if I'm chasing a win and a clean sheet, I'll go with Arsenal, even on the road. Arsenal and Manchester City are the only teams to win each of their first two games and while I don't expect the streak to last much longer, I don't really expect Bournemouth to end it, either.
Jordan PickfordEVENFO54003.33125.25
Nottingham Forest is trying to incorportate 16 new signings and as any Burnley fan can tell you this season, that doesn't always go smoothly. Forest has just one goal through two games and while I don't trust Everton or Jordan Pickford, they are -105 to win this game at home. If you have to pay up for a keeper on DK or you cannot afford Ramsdale on FD, Pickford is the best choice.

Forwards

Odsonne EdouardCRYAVL44001.45154.45
Edouard has just three shots (one on goal) and one cross in 85 minutes through two games, but I'm going to chalk that up to bad matchups against Arsenal and Liverpool. Palace's attack should be much better this week, and Edouard is cheap for someone with 0.49 goals + assists in the last year. He is riskier than the other Palace attackers but he is much cheaper on DraftKings.
Brennan JohnsonNFOEVE53002.68154.00
Johnson led Nottingham Forest in goals last season, and he could certainly provide a cheap goal against Everton. Perhaps more importantly, he has five crosses through two games. He is a safe forward on DK who has a decent ceiling as well.
Gabriel JesusARSBOU  2235.30
I would prefer a bit more consistency from the top-priced player, but I would encouraged by Jesus's three chances created last week. He does things other than score goals, but I am concerned he will occasionally struggle to get touches, as he did at Crystal Palace. Even so, the ceiling and matchup are as good as it gets.
Wilfried ZahaCRYAVL890015.751722.75
I didn't really want to list every Crystal Palace attacker, but Zaha is too cheap on FanDuel. He has three chances created and three shots on goal through two games and while he isn't completely safe, I fully expect him to take advantage of a nice matchup against Aston Villa.

Midfielders
PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Eberechi EzeCRYAVL76008.65148.15
I think Eze is super safe on DraftKings and underpriced on FanDuel. Eze had five crosses and a shot against Arsenal and he assisted Wilfried Zaha's goal at Liverpool.
Harrison ReedFULBRE37006.331311.65
Andreas Periera is safer due to his role on free kicks but they have each created three chances and Reed scored more DK fantasy points in both games this season. Reed is my favorite punt play on DK and he is playable on FD as well.
Josh DasilvaBREFUL550014.671521.30
If he scores for a third straight game, this could be your last chance to get him at a reasonable price. He is more goal-dependent than I would normally like, especially in the midfield, but he does have four crosses in 93 minutes. Chasing a goal streak is a totally viable strategy in soccer, especially when you don't have to pay a ton to do it, and Brentford's offense looks completely different when Dasilva is on the field.
James MaddisonLEISOU1020022.71926.30
Through two games, Maddison has averaged 4.6 more DK fantasy points than any other player on the slate. He is safe and capable of scoring goals like he did last week. Southampton may be the worst team on the slate, and they are 18th in fantasy points allowed to midfielders. It helps that there are so many value plays I like but I would probably pay up for Maddison even if that wasn't the case.
Moussa DjenepoSOULEI46009.461012.55
He has been great for fantasy through two games, and with Romain Perraud out, that should remain the case for at least one more game. Both of Southampton's wingbacks will be playable most weeks, and while I wish Djenepo was listed as a defender, at least he is cheaper than Kyle Walker-Peters.
MidfieldersTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
James Ward-ProwseSOULEI870015.731820.55
Ward-Prowse was a bit disappointing last week after he was one of the only Southampton players to show up against Tottenham in the opening weekend. Even so, if his floor is 7.4 DK fantasy points, I will take that. I certainly don't trust any of the other Southampton attackers to produce for fantasy.
Anthony GordonEVENFO74005.85166.95
Gordon is miscast as a striker but this should be his best matchup of the young season. He was much better at Aston Villa with two crosses and three shots (two on goal). Demarai Gray is safer but Gordon is forward-eligible and is probably more likely to score as well.

Defenders
PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Neco WilliamsNFOEVE570013.451325.00
You could certainly pivot to Harry Toffolo if you need to save money, but I think Williams's place on set pieces is worth paying up for. Just keep an eye on Morgan Gibbs-White. He was on corners for Wolverhampton and if he starts for his new team Saturday he could cut into Williams's workload.
Antonee RobinsonFULBRE45006.881014.40
Robinson and Kenny Tete have basically been the same exact player for fantasy over the last 2+ seasons, so I'm always going to recommend the cheaper of the two. Robinson has seven crosses through two games, and only four teams allowed more crosses than Brentford last season.
Aaron HickeyBREFUL40006.1985.10
I'm hoping for some surprise starters Saturday because otherwise there really aren't any cheap defenders I am excited to play. Hickey is close, coming off double-digit DK fantasy points last week against Manchester United. For as good as Brentford was in that game, they still only had 33 percent possession. I expect more possession against Fulham and hopefully that will lead to more crosses for Hickey and Rico Henry.
Marcos SenesiBOUARS  91.30
Senesi played just 10 minutes off the bench against Manchester City but he has a chance to start for the first time with his new team Saturday. Bournemouth has the worst matchup on the slate by far and that could lead to a bunch of cheap defensive stats in this game.
Ezri KonsaAVLCRY36002.8285.20
Konsa's FPPG is misleading because he played just one minute against Everton. His fantasy production in his one start was exactly the same as Tyrone Mings's. Both defenders should start with Diego Carlos out and while I would probably pay up for Mings if I could, Konsa could be just as good for less.
