QUARTERBACKS

Quarterbacks

Seth HeniganMEMUCF900023.7
On a slate without many top QB options, Henigan stands out as the most expensive. This game vs. UCF will surely be high-scoring and back-and-forth with tons of DFS production on both sides. Henigan’s 17 DK points last week was a result of a run-heavy offense and him being removed early for precautionary reasons due to a hand injury. He'll reportedly be good to go for this game, though, and could easily replicate his 30-35 DFS points he put up in the two games prior. Since the QB position is weak on Friday night, expect Henigan to be popular in cash.
Todd CenteioCSUUTST740018.35
The QB2 range for your Super-Flex is a bit ugly, but at least Centeio should be involved in a higher-scoring matchup with Utah State. Though his passing numbers could be better - only 221 yards per game and just six TDs through six games - Centeio does offer a rushing floor. He’s averaging 40 rushing yards per game and has at least 35 rush yards in four of six games thus far. It’s not much, but it provides a much safer floor than most other QBs in action.
Chase CunninghamMTSUUCONN710016.44
Cunningham was a DFS darling for us a few weeks ago when he dropped 47 DFS points and five pass TDs in his first start for Middle Tennessee. Though he took a step back statistically the next two games, Cunningham now boasts a 9:2 TD:INT ratio since taking over as the offense’s starter. Now he gets a soft matchup vs. UConn and we should MTSU to score a ton against this defense. Bank on Cunningham being a big part of that in an offense that’s usually pass-centric.
Mikey KeeneUCFMEM61008.56
Statistically speaking, UCF has the best passing matchup of this slate with Memphis giving up 277 pass yards per game and 16 pass TDs over seven games. If it was Dillon Gabriel playing, then it would be a lock button play. However, Gabriel remains out and we have true freshman Mikey Keene still entrenched as the starter. It honestly hasn’t been pretty for Keene in his three full games under center - with a 3:4 TD:INT ratio and less than 200 passing yards in each contest. However, this matchup could allow him to post solid numbers and the UCF offense will likely have to throw to keep up with Memphis. The cheap price tag puts him in play for cash or GPP.
Steven KrajewskiUCONNMTSU590012.91
Are we really considering playing a guy from UConn’s woeful squad? Yep, because the matchup vs. Middle Tennessee is actually a favorable one and we know the Huskies will be throwing more often than not while inevitably trailing. MTSU’s defense is giving up 250.7 pass yards per game (100th in FBS). Krajewski leaves a lot to be desired as a starting QB, but he does have 24+ DFS points in two of the last three games and brings a little rushing upside as well. He could be a bargain at this price tag if he gives you 20+ DFS points from the Super-Flex spot.

Also Consider:

Logan Bonner -- Utah State ($7,700) -- GPP

RUNNING BACKS

Running Backs
PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Brandon ThomasMEMUCF680017.01
The UCF rush defense has been getting gashed all season, allowing 176 rushing yards per game and 4.5 ypc with 13 rush TDs given up over six games. This matchup bodes very well for Thomas as Memphis’ lead ball-carrier with Rodrigues Clark still dealing with an injury. Thomas has seen 15+ carries in six of seven games thus far and he’s totaled seven rush TDs. The volume, favorable matchup and high-scoring environment of this game puts Thomas firmly in play for all formats. It’s not out of the question for him to score multiple times with 100+ rushing yards as a solid cash option.
Isaiah BowserUCFMEM650019.2
It seems like forever ago when Bowser smashed back-to-back DFS slates with his 172 rushing yards and a TD in Week 1 and four rush TDs in Week 2 - putting up 30+ DFS points in both. A knee injury has sidelined him recently, but Bowser returned last week vs. Cincinnati and saw 13 carries with a TD as UCF’s lead back once again. That matchup, though, was not ideal and he should have more success on the ground against Memphis’ average rush defense. UCF will likely lean on Bowser more often than not with a freshman QB under center too. Limit exposure to GPP’s, though, with some more trustworthy RB options on this slate.
David BaileyCSUUTST600017.12
The Utah State rush defense is statistically the worst on this slate, allowing 206 rushing yards per game and 5.58 ypc with 13 rush TDs given up over six games. The matchup alone puts David Bailey firmly in play and it should make him popular on this slate for cash. The former Boston College transfer suffered a leg injury earlier this season but he saw a healthy 21 carries last week as he continued in a workhorse role. Bailey has 18-plus touches in all four of his full games this season and we should see a ton of volume for him this week - especially if he’s having success on the ground in this matchup.
Kamari PleasantUWARIZ55008.52
The Washington backfield was a guessing game all last season and it’s continued this year. Pleasant, though, is an interesting value because he’s splitting lead RB duties with Sean McGrew and he’s shown some upside lately. The super-senior has rushed for 84 and 80 rushing yards in the last two games with an impressive ypc average - and notably more efficient than McGrew in those games too. We know Washington should win this game vs. Arizona by a bunch and the run game has a favorable matchup against a bad ‘Zona rush defense. Pleasant could easily go off for 100+ yards and a TD to smash value.
Chaton MobleyMTSUUCONN49009.38
Unfortunately the easy matchup vs. UConn’s bad rush defense is a moot point on this slate because Middle Tennessee’s backfield is a full-blown committee. Five different MTSU RB’s have seen 15+ carries this season and it’s anyone’s best guess who will lead the team in rushing game-to-game. Mobley, though, is worth a look in GPP’s because he had 132 rushing yards and 22 DFS points a couple games ago and should see the most carries this week. His 184 rushing yards, 5.4 ypc and two rush TDs all lead the team and his 34 carries are second to Amir Rasul, who weirdly didn’t even record a carry last game. Mobley is a boom-or-bust option it seems but could be a nice value on this short slate.

Also Consider:

Sean McGrew -- Washington ($6,200) -- GPP

Calvin Tyler Jr. -- Utah State ($5,000) -- GPP

Johnny Richardson -- UCF ($4,700) -- Cash/GPP

Michael Wiley -- Arizona ($4,400) -- GPP

Marquavius Weaver -- Memphis ($3,700) -- GPP

WIDE RECEIVERS

Wide Receivers
PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Calvin Austin IIIMEMUCF920031.37
This price tag may seem crazy, but Austin has been worth it from a fantasy perspective. The Memphis wideout’s 857 receiving yards (second), eight TD catches (tied for third) and 50 receptions (tied for fifth) are all among the top ten in the whole country. Austin is very clearly the top offensive option for Memphis and they’ll get the ball in his hands as much as possible - especially in a high-scoring matchup vs. UCF where both teams will be scoring early and often. He’ll likely lead the whole slate in DFS points - QBs included - and it’s hard to fade in cash with one of the best floor/ceiling combos in the sport.
Deven ThompkinsUTSTCSU870030.45
Ideally you try to fit both Calvin Austin and Thompkins in the same lineup, but that’s obviously tough to do with both being priced up. Utah State’s top receiver, though, is a safe pivot away from Austin and he may end up being more popular in cash because of the slight savings. His 50 receptions, 819 yards and six TDs are all among the top ten in the country and he’s also the top offensive weapon for Utah St. The matchup vs. Colorado State is tough on paper, but Thompkins’ NFL-caliber talent makes him virtually matchup-proof.
Trey McBrideCSUUTST700021.05
Viewed as one of the best tight ends in college football, McBride is putting up WR1-type numbers for Colorado State this season. He has at least six receptions in every game thus far and his 49 total catches are tied for seventh in the whole country. Though he’s only scored once, the DFS floor is very safe with his reception volume - and he’s posted 100+ receiving yards in four of six games already. The higher price tag may make him less popular in cash than he should, but he’s as safe as it gets - outside of Austin and Thompkins obviously.
Ryan O'KeefeUCFMEM610015.77
If Jaylon Robinson remains out (which seems likely), then O’Keefe will continue operating as the top wideout for a high-scoring UCF offense. That puts him firmly in play on that fact alone, but then consider the soft matchup vs. Memphis’ pass defense and the high game total. O’Keefe has been a PPR monster lately with 17 total receptions over the past two games combined and a safe floor because of that high reception volume. He’s become a clear favorite target for freshman QB Mikey Keene and the two should pair up for plenty of receptions this week. He’s an ideal cash play on this slate without many proven options outside of the top tier.
PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Jimmy MarshallMTSUUCONN540013.15
If a team is playing UConn, then any of those offensive players can be considered with the good chance they find the end zone and/or have a productive yardage day. Marshall is one of those as he’s scored in three of the last four games and is coming off a good performance last game when he had seven catches for 77 yards. Marshall’s 329 receiving yards lead the team and his 25 receptions are tied for the team with Jarrin Pierce, who shouldn’t be more expensive on this slate. This is a good play for cash or GPP and will likely go overlooked with all the top WR talent in action.
Dante WrightCSUUTST530010.07
While Trey McBride is the headliner in Colorado State’s passing game, Wright is still the WR1 in this offense and is a bit underpriced for his role. Wright had 10 catches for 146 yards over the first two games but then was sidelined with a knee injury. He returned last week but only had one reception on his lone snap of the game while being limited on the field in a blowout win. However, it’s only a matter of time until he becomes more involved as a pass-catcher and Utah State will keep it close enough for Wright to be on the field more often. He’s too cheap for a guy who averaged 9.6 touches and 117 total yards over just three games a year ago - not to mention 1,000+ total yards back in 2019’s full season.
Derek WrightUTSTCSU430010.72
Though Deven Thompkins is the headliner in the Utah State receiving corps, both Brandon Bowling and Derek Wright are worth consideration for much cheaper. Wright has been a bit inconsistent this season, but he does have five catches in back-to-back games coming into this week and has four-plus receptions in four of six games so far. The target volume is very attractive for sub-5k wideout who could easily return value - especially if he finds the end zone in a likely higher-scoring game vs. Colorado St.
Amari JohnsonUCFMEM36005.92
We’ll have to check pre-game warmups for Jaylon Robinson’s status, but if he remains out then Amari Johnson would be a nice value. The junior has carved out a bigger role in the UCF offense with Robinson out lately and he’s become one of QB Mikey Keene’s favorite targets. Johnson has nine catches over the last two games combined, and he’s also being used as a ball-carrier to stretch opposing defenses with four rush attempts and a rush TD over the past three games. You can also look towards Brandon Johnson as a value in the UCF attack, but Amari is notably cheaper and is seeing a higher floor of receptions right now.
Aaron TurnerUCONNMTSU34006.37
As we alluded to with Steven Krajewski above, the UConn passing game could be a sneaky spot to target in a soft matchup and a game they should be trailing and throwing more. Keelan Marion is the Huskies’ top receiver, but he’s a bit too expensive for this slate. Aaron Turner, though, is interesting as a punt value with Jay Rose out again. Turner’s 22 receptions actually lead the team right now and he’s had at least four catches in three of the last four games. The ypc average isn’t great, but the floor of receptions is decent enough for this cheap tag.

Also Consider:

Jarrin Pierce -- Middle Tennessee ($5,800) -- GPP

Brandon Bowling -- Utah State ($4,800) -- GPP

Brandon Johnson -- UCF ($4,500) -- Cash/GPP

Boobie Curry -- Arizona ($4,400) -- Cash

Kevens Clercius -- UConn ($3,800) -- GPP
